Default Music Festivals 2021

Some festivals are already planning now for 2021, and some are inviting back bands they had booked for 2020.

That's an amazing lineup. Artists are going to be money hungry so can't afford to be choosy?

I'm so out of the loop if that line-up is that is amazing. I'm saying that as an indictment on me not the line-up. I recognized Beck and Iggy Pop.

Haha, I'm the same. I only know 11 of the bands from that lineup.

You’re not that out of the loop. There’s some decent bands but I don’t see a single true headliner. Also the way the poster is listed makes it tougher to spot bands.

There may not be huge, huge names but I bet acts like FKA Twigs, Gorillaz and Tyler, the Creator attract big crowds. There are a bunch of classic indie rock bands like Bikini Kill and The Jesus and Mary Chain to bring out the old farts like me.

I recognize about 50 of those names and I'd like to see all of them. I bet I'd enjoy a big chunk of the ones I don't know too. There's nothing wrong with not knowing many bands on a bill. Maybe the festival isn't for you or maybe you'd discover a new favourite.

I'd say Beck, the National, The Strokes, and Iggy Pop are definitely headliners. Dinosaur Jr, Jesus & Mary Chain, and Bauhaus are pretty big names as well.

True. I guess I was comparing it to the AAA festivals that have names that your average top 40 fan would recognize and pay $500 to see play.

To me, those bands are not at that level currently.

Lol. It's just the way the poster is written, alphabetical. Many of the bands are local Spanish bands.

Beck, Gorillaz, Tame Impala, the Strokes, the National, etc.. Would all be considered headlining alternative rock acts. On top of that you have Iggy Pop, Caribou, Earl Sweatshirt, etc.. Who are big secondary acts.

The problem is the headliners are in the same font as the acts playing side stages, so the talent looks more diluted.

The festival is obviously aimed at a slightly older crowd though. Hilarious that they created the poster in a way that confuses that crowd.

Anyone who thinks The National are on the same level as Tool, Beyoncé, JayZ, Kendrick Lamar etc is delirious. They aren’t even in the same conversation.

I won't go, strictly due to the alphabetical ordered poster.
Too bad, would have been fun.

Just on the first row Autechre are legends and 100 Gecs were getting hyped to become the new big thing prior to the pandemic (I personally cannot stand them tho).
Sorry to pile on.

Among nearing middle age alt rock fans, the National is still a pretty big act. But fair enough, I probably should have thrown them into the secondary act category.

It is only 173 Euro for the 3 day festival. Apparently it's a great time too, as the city really gets into it and it draws more than just the kids.

I feel like CharliXCX and Young Thug are a big draw for the young crowd too.

I just think it's a solid overall lineup. 27 of the acts I'd really want to see.

Nice to see Covid-19 isn't on the list.

Re: Pavement I believe the original plan was to reunite to play 2 festivals (Portugal, Spain) summer 2020 and take it from there- sounds like they are honouring part A of the plan, no really sense whether they will do more from there
