Gotta be one of my least favorite things coaches do, challenge a line to gain spot only to go for it anyway. And the football Gods thankfully punish the 49ers there.

Hahaha did that really just happen? Oof

(Bills stop Niners on the goal line on 4th down. Then immediately fumble it away on their next play)

Man scrimmaging inside the 2 today has been brutal, I think we have two successful scores on like 15+ tries.

Too many teams draft a QB early, make him the starter, give them no other support and wonder why he can’t turn the team around single handedly.

This was a guy that was the lone bright spot on these Jets teams the two years prior to this one and he had a good second season in the league, especially considering he was a starter as a rookie at 21, and had a great season for a 22 year old last year.

He is still only 23 (same age as Murray, younger than Burrow). The raw talent is there, a good coach and GM would make it work.
You know I just looked at Darnold's numbers for fun, and Jameis is actually the perfect comparable. Darnold has just about as many turnovers as he does TDs in his career, kinda like Jameis. For sure the Jets have done Darnold no favours, and in the right situation I've sure he can thrive, but we've also seen enough of him to wonder if his ceiling isn't limited to slightly better than replacement level. If nothing else I think you could have made good money in 2018 betting that Josh Allen would be a lock for the "max" second contract and Darnold might have to go the low end starter money route.

Fair to say the top 3 MVP candidates are Mahomes, Rodgers and Allen. Not sure what Josh will need to do to swipe it, but his growth this season has been extraordinary.

I still expect the AFC East to end up in a 3 way tie of teams with a 10-6 record and the Patriots taking it with the best Division record. I'm interested to see how it plays out. Definitely interested to see the three big Division matchups left as the top three all play each other one more time.

All these years I still don't know if the Bill's or Dolphins can beat the Patriots in a December game where the Pat's have to win to stay alive.

Bill should still be Coach of the Year for getting them to .500.

I mean I think most people had New England as a fringe playoff team to start the year, and here we are and they are...a fringe playoff team. Stefansky pretty much has it wrapped unless the Browns collapse down the stretch.

Fair enough, but would they be a fringe playoff team without Bill? Missing key players that held-out, and no Tom.

It's going to be a Brown Christmas! I don't know how to handle this.

Bill has done fine, it's impressive to win with one of the worst QBs in the league who can barely produce 100 yards passing. But the next three weeks look like three straight losses, so if they finish 7-9 it's basically right in line with expectations. If they sneak into the playoffs he'll have a chance to win COTY.

Wow. Personally I would have started Wentz to see how he responds after being benched. I feel there's the threat of being benched and then actually being benched. I would have liked to see how Wentz fared after realizing that his job is on the line. If Hurts bombs then it's tough to go back to Wentz. Banking on the Colts to take that contract off their hands IMO isn't sound strategy but I imagine jobs could be on the line right now.

I would vote for Brian Flores. Stefansky has considerably more talent to work with.

He had to sense his job was already on the line before Sunday and he still was crap. He's broken and can't be fixed.

Yeah that could be the case. Not a lot different than RG3 who was never the same after injuries. I can't see a team taking on his contract but once he's eventually cut I'm sure a team will take a flyer on him as a reclamation project.

It'll be a miracle if the Eagles can even get a 4th round pick for Wentz now. More than likely he's a straight cut. Ironically I think the Rams are a great landing spot for him. We know Goff's ceiling is what it is, I think Wentz under McVay is a higher ceiling for sure.

Wentz won’t be cut this year, he’s like a 64 million dollar cap hit. He’s in Philly at least one more year. “Open competition” going into the season by whomever is the new head coach and GM. Hurts should win easily, Carson eats cap for a year or two, then he’s gone. He can bounce around bottom tier teams for a few years. Maybe go throw interceptions for Bruce Arians after Brady retires.

Wonder if a guy like Shanahan would take on a project like Wentz. I really question as to whether Jimmy G is the answer there, certainly not saying Wentz is.

I bet he is traded to Indy after next year and ends up actually being decent.
