How do you keep such a generic name when trying to make it as a celebrity?
Given who his father is, it would be weird to change his last name and then he would have to spend his whole career being asked why he changed it.
I guess you have to blame Denzel for giving him such a boring generic name, especially when Denzel's name is so unique you don't even need to say his last name and people know who you're talking about.

So generic I didn’t even connect the dots there. Had no idea.
Geez that looks really good. I was going to say the aesthetic felt Star Warsy, Rogue One director.

I want to like John David Washington, but the dude is just so dull. Clearly that's not passed on through genetics.
I was about to post about that guy, I ended up really disliking Tenet and then Amsterdam turned out to be the most disappointing film of 2022. Not a fan of him at all. Was initially thinking of skipping The Creator but the trailer looks pretty good and I'll likely hit it in the theater.
Has anyone posted the trailer for "Killers of the Flower Moon" yet? Looks f'ing incredible. had a great reception at Cannes and people are getting hyped, I'm excited.
Being the "real world" villain in a movie based on a classic toy line is a weird thing to get typecast as, but good for Will Ferrell for doing it in both the Lego and Barbie movies.

It's just crazy how little emotional range he has. I am glad I am not the only one who felt this way too as I struggled through Amsterdam with him as a lead next to Christian Bale who is one of the all time greats. I thought maybe some Bale's genius might rub off on Washington and left convinced that Washington is truly the most boring actor in Hollywood.
