Custom beer labels

A friend and I have started brewing our own beer, as a surprise for Christmas I wanted to get some labels printed for the bottles.

Anyone have any experience doing this for their own beer/wine?

I've done it before for wine.

I went with a custom designed sticker, printed at a local print shop. They're sticky, meaning you won't be able to easily soak them off afterwards, but they won't fall off if the bottle gets wet.
