I was pleasantly surprised by this album actually. I haven't really enjoyed anything Eminem has put out since the original MMLP (which came out when I was in high school) so my expectations were pretty low.

But at the very least this album sounds like something he enjoyed making and he doesn't come across as a guy with the weight of the world on his shoulders anymore, or the desire to live up to his own hype.

I'm just giving the album my first listen and am liking it so far.

I was in Orlando for the last week and went on Tuesday to pick up the CD at WalMart. Well, I bought the CD, popped it into the rental and started listening. WTF? where are the explicit lyrics? I look at the CD and notice its missing the parental advisory label. Crap, I go back in to WalMart thinking I accidentally picked up the wrong CD, but it turns out WalMart in the states only sells the edited version and since I've opened it up they won't take it as a return, only exchange. Well there is nothing more annoying than listening to rap with lyrics removed so I'm stuck with a useless CD thanks in part to my stupidity and a stupid censorship policy.

I think So Far... is my favourite right now, but it changes almost daily.

What a joke.
How many people that "know the genre" are you speaking on behalf of?
I get that everyone's version of what "real hip hop" is is different, but this album is dope.

After a few more listens (to the real version thankfully), I am loving it.

So far, Legacy has to be my fave, it has a slow beat with real intense lyrics that only Eminem can seem to do, but there are so many really good songs on the album.

The sample used for it really drags the song down. It's solid otherwise.

Overall, the album is pretty decent. Standouts for me are Survival, Rap God, and So Far. I could do with a little less signing and hooks, but I always say that.

I actually think this could be my favourite song at this point, and to see it performed live is pretty damn impressive. For some reason I never thought that he would be able to pull this one off in front of an audience, but that could be my own naivete. Anyway, its awesome!
