Default Egg nog

I tried searching but the words were too short (huge pita btw mods)

Anyways it's that time of year and we were looking to try making our own nog this year. Anyone got any good recipes?

Well, here's your first problem: eggnog is one word.

Anyway, I do have an excellent secret recipe but it's secret. Still, the key is freshly grated nutmeg and Sortilege liqueur.

I make a Christmas version of a White Russian substituting eggnog for the milk or cream.

The Christmas Communist

Ice

30 oz brandy
5 oz tawny port
70 oz milk
15 oz cream
5 oz sugar syrup
20 egg yolk
nutmeg

Shake well over ice cubes in a shaker. Strain into a large highball glass over ice cubes, sprinkle with nutmeg, and serve.

Makes 20 drinks.

The wife and I tried Martha Stewart's recipe one year and it was quite good. I'm sure you could find it via Google.

My secret recipe

First start the car and get it nice and warm.
Then brush the snow off your windows.
Next get in your car, then

Go to Safeway and buy a delisious carton of lucerne eggnog. No other brand will do.

1) go to google
2) type in "calgarypuck.com + (any other word you're searching for here)"
3) find results you're looking for
4) profit

Go to Sunterra and get the eggnog by the D' Dutchman Dairy out of Sicamous. Sold in glass bottles. It's amazing. Best Eggnog I've ever had.

I try to limit myself to 2-3 rum & eggnogs over the holiday season. I figure that much like each cigarette you smoke each one takes a tangible number of minutes off your life.

It's pretty much liquid death, tasty tasty death.

I'll have to check this out. If it's anything like their ice cream it will definitely be a notch above.

My local Sobey's isn't even stocking eggnog yet. Color me disappointed.
