I was having a couple beers with a buddy tonight, and this topic came up. I thought it would be an interesting discussion here.
For me, it was at The Wynn resort in Las Vegas, and it was actually a dinner feature. Never in my life have I eaten something so incredibly delicious:
Lobster Benedict.
A split english muffin, toasted with prosciuito half a lobster tail on each half, a soft poached egg, and the most incredibly, perfectly textured hollandaise sauce I have ever had.
On the side was herb roasted red baby potatoes.
And asparagus spears in a mushroom sauce.
To finish it, I had the most amazing Creme Caramel I have ever tasted.
All in it was a $55 meal which was incredibly reasonable, and I ate it for dinner 3/4 nights I was there.

The Kauai Grill, on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. It was a kobe beef filet mignon with a black pepper jam that is still the tastiest thing I have ever put in my mouth. I am ruined for steaks for all time after that meal.

The only thing to rival this is hitting a shawarma cart at 4am while completely blitzed in a foreign country. I swear I heard angels singing when taking that first bite

Gordon Ramsay's in London. As cliche as it may be, the beef wellington was easily the best thing I've ever had in my life.
I'm still really mad at myself that I didn't go there when I had the opportunity. I was cringing at what it would cost, but have regretted that decision ever since.

Fresh baked bread using local Chocolate Stout yeast, whipped duck lard butter and fancy mushrooms at El Ideas (I am butchering the actual description but you get it.)
I am a bread freak, and nothing I have ever eaten has come that close to food perfection. I remember it over a year later like it was yesterday.
If you're ever in San Francisco you need to stop at the House of Prime Rib. Best meal of my life. The couple of dirty martinis I had before-hand may have played a factor, but not that much.
Oh for dessert they offer you an extra slice of prime rib...mmm gluttony.
I can't remember what type of bird (duck or goose) but it was that really inhumane Foie Gras dish I had at this place in Budapest. I have never tasted anything so tasty.
Pretty much any restaurant in Tuscany (no not NW Calgary). In particular La Bottinga di Volpia was especially memorable for the cheese and truffle pasta. Like nothing I've had before, fresh home made pasta, pungent shaved truffle and truffle oil.
All in a place we pretty much stumble into. Hardly a haute cusine place, but rustic, and just one of many amazing places in Tuscany, for very little (I think it was like a $12USD entree?)
Been to Gordon Ramsey's Boxwood Cafe in London (Knightsbridge to be exact). Had a mushroom risotto - while being well executed, I can't call it memorable.
