He's been taking regular shifts. Hasn't looked too bad. A couple of out of character giveaways, but he hasn't played in 6 or 7 weeks.

Not sure how many more times I can say it, but Ortio saving our behinds again. He's stopping everything. He's bailing us out of some pretty stupid defensive lapses here.

I don't understand why people are so quick to write off Hanowski. Good size, alright hands, and decent hockey sense. If he can continue to improve his skating and potentially adds little edge to his game he could be an alright 3rd/4th line guy.

For anyone looking for stats for individual players for the game, here they are: http://theahl.com/stats/game-summary...ame_id=1012215

Keep in mind, the AHL does not keep the same stats as the NHL. We don't have advanced stats like TOI, FO%, etc. We have goals, assists, points, shots and +/-.

I don't think people are writing him off they just don't think he is NHL ready. I really think Hanowski should spend another season in the AHL. He was much improved on the last call up by the Flames and I think he will get better. His skating needs improvement for sure and he needs to react faster on the play something that he can improve on by playing more professional games in AHL. I hope Flames re-sign him for at least two more seasons.

Thanks Drury for the PBP on Heat game. I hope TSN or Sportsnet start showing the Heat games especially during the playoff.

Managed to find a video highlight package from tonight. It is from the Rampage but does show all 3 Heat goals and a few of Ortio's good saves:

Rampage goalie Clemmensen... is that the same guy who used to backed up Martin Brodeur in NJ?

Hot damn, that Blair Jones goal was great.

The guy's a solid tweener. He's phenomenal at the AHL level and serviceable as a pest/grinder at the NHL level. I hope they re-sign him.

Default [GDT] Heat vs Rampage - April 17th @ 6pm MST & April 18th @ 6:30pm MST

We can clinch 5th spot tonight!

@brandon_astle: HEAT GAMEDAY: Heat @ Rampage. ABB can clinch the #5 seed with a win & a MIL loss of any kind. Or an OTL/SOL vs SA & a MIL loss in regulation

Also as expected, the kids will come out to play tonight!

@brandon_astle: The kids will play tonight. Emile Poirier will make his professional debut and skate on a line with Reinhart & Street. Klimchuk back in too.

Is it sacrilegious to hope Poirier becomes Brad Marchand (minus the diving)? Because that's what I'm hoping for.
