Default American Horror Story Discussion

Discussion thread so I imagine spoilers will come up.

Who else is watching? I haven't been able to watch Season 1 but I'll get to it soon hopefully. I'm new to the series and just finished episodes 1 and 2.

I'm really liking it. There is a lot going on already and lots of weird stuff. Really like Sister Jude's performance so far. Seems like every person in the Briarcliff has some serious flaws.

Devils, aliens, monsters, the criminally insane, and guys in masks. This show already seems to have everything.

I never saw Season 1 but have been drawn into the Asylum storyline so far - I'm enjoying all the acting from Jessica Lange & James Cromwell down to the lesser-known actors.

Every time I think I have a handle on where I think the story is going, I find myself on the wrong side of the guesses which is awesome, I love not being able to figure everything out!

Can't wait for episode 3!!!

Yes. Some actors have returned but they are completely different characters. Each season is a mini series in itslef I guess.

This season takes place in 1964 in an insane asylum. There are also a few scenes in modern day which ties today with the past though.

^^ Don't see it listed on their Wikipedia, so it doesn't look like it.

liked the second episode more than the first.

It's a fun show, no doubt. Jessica Lange steals every scene that she's in.

More so.

This season is definitely creepier than the last. Not sure how I feel about the aliens though.

Don't like this season as much as last. I felt much more drawn into last season with the modern storyline and much more likeable characters. After the second episode the only characters I like are the modern people, the psychiatrist, the girl with the short hair (cant remember her name), and Kit

Last night's episode was much better than the first one. The exorcism scenes were really creepy, and Jessica Lange absolutely stole the show with her performance. Still not having as much fun watching it as I did last season though, but hopefully I'll get more sucked into this storyline as the episodes move on.

First episode didn't blow me away like last season did. Hopefully 2nd episode is better.

Just got around to watching the first 2 episodes and WOW. I still love this show. Not as creepy as the 1st season, but still. Jessica Lange is unreal. Just a great show

Ryan Murphy's horror-drama has been renewed for a 13-episode third season, which will air next year. To add to that excellent bit of news, it's been confirmed that Jessica Lange will return for Season 3. Who will she play? Assuming the series starts over with a new setting and story for the third season, we should expect her to play a whole new character, just as she did at the start of American Horror Story: Asylum.

I thought the first season was pretty meh, but am really enjoying this new season. Not only was the first season not that scary, Dylan McDermott is a terrible actor and having him play the lead with the extremely talented Jessica Lange in the background was simply ######ed.

I was finding this season pretty boring, but that last episode was awesome.

I'm torn on this season. I think Jessica Lang, James Cromwell and the kid that plays Kit are great. The rest, meh. I find this season to be more gross out than anything, and I am not sure what to think about the abduction stuff. It seems rather disjointed to me right now. Maybe it'll tie together nicely later on.

Also - I don't get some of the imagery of it. The scene where James Cromwell was telling Jessica Lang that she was done and they kept having brief flashes of the fireplace. I didn't get it.

Agreed. Season one was more psychological, season two is less so.

I thought the first season was pretty good, but I've found myself completely bored so far this season.

I really couldn't wait for an episode last season, this season, I watch them when there is nothing else on the PVR. Although the last episode piqued my interest.
