Hoping for some classic TJ Brodie gaffs that lead to the puck ending up in his own net. GFG!

5:00pm AST start.

It means that I get to watch the game at a reasonable time.

We need more of these

Aaaaaand just realized its a regional broadcast. Son of a Lesfs fan!

I don't miss Brodie, except that I feel like he is one of the only guys in the league that can kinda sorta control McDavid because of his speed and skating ability, and I hope that doesn't show up in the Flames vs Oilers games this year. At the same time, his two-a-game "whoopsies" I will not miss at all.

Should be a good game, Flames rested (too rested maybe) and Leafs finding some stride here. I think the Flames are better, but I'm not sure how fair of a demonstration today's game is. Schedule is so weird.

But I feel vastly different going into every game this year, I feel like the top 4 D is very good, and the goaltending will be there, and the re-slotting of the forwards is just a huge improvement. Backlund at 3C makes him dominant, Monahan at 2C makes him dominant, and hopefully Lindy can just keep the other team's top line at bay, and I think he can.

Love T.J. Brodie for all his time here. He was a great player for us for a long time, and there are a ton of tremendous memories that he's a part of.

Can't wait to beat the hell out of him and his new team. Go Flames!

Afternoon game? Yeeesh are the Flames notoriously bad in these?

I'm not worried about McDavid. He seems to get 1 or 2 of his side angled breakaways per game. He does a pretty good job of converting on them, hopefully Markstrom shuts the door though. Anyhow, that is max 2 goals and he spends all his Dzone time at the blue line trying to make his sweet special move happen. Flames get at least 6, Connor finishes with 2g -4 1st star.

That is what I thought too. I thought we were full time retro this year with Blasty making the odd appearance. Why in hell are the Flames bringing out these threads again. I thought we had seen the last of them.

We needed to keep “third jersey” or else they would have to apply again to the league for some reason. Something along those lines.

Yes, but isn't Blasty our third jersey this year?

No. The Blasty jersey is part of the league-wide "reverse retro" program. It's basically a special event jersey, like an outdoor game Jersey.

Those are just special “reverse retros” and not considered third jerseys.

Just like how Edmonton still was wearing their dark blue and orange ugly jerseys

What Scorp said.

4th game in and back to flag jersey? I would have been fine with a 4 year break until I saw those again.

Go flames!!!!

The Flames did not want to completely lose the flag patches because KK was a strong proponent of them. At least not yet. I like them too for what it's worth - unpopular here I know.

I want to say the Flames are the better team, but we've only beat the Canucks this year, which is starting to look like an easy task. Then also, TO has not looked like the world beaters her fans predicted either.

Our Flames do not have a strong record in afternoon games or the first game after an extended break.

Hoping for a good game and a great result. Go Flames go!

Reading this makes me so happy we decided to move back west especially the ‘you’re in Leafs Nation’ garbage that came up every single time you tried to talk hockey.
