Default January 22 with eight games.

The Friday OOT has the Stars playing their first game of the season. There is a doubleheader for viewers in Canada and the Oilers-Leafs game will be the game to get the most posts.

As bad as it's been having this break for my first team, the Flames, it's been equally as weird/hard to have my second team not playing much either. The Panthers have been victims of other teams' stupidity with COVID, postponing 2 game series with both Dallas and Carolina. They've only played 2 games so far and won't play again until Tuesday against Columbus.

And yet, they're still second in the division at the moment behind Tampa....weird.

On the plus side, new addition Hornqvist leads the team in goals and points with 3 and 4 respectively. He's already fit in very well on Huberdeau's line. Verhaege is doing well on Barkov's line scoring 3 points so far. New additions are playing well.

Now if only we can get goalie-bob going. Unfortunately, I'm less confident about that one happening.

I’ve been very impressed with Verhaeghe. I knew he would play better with more minutes and opportunity (after signing away from Tampa), but not to this extent. He’s a solid player thus far.

So, what's up with Bobrovsky? Has he played yet?

No Thornton or Mathews tonight.

Sounds like Neal is back after getting over COVID

Yes, one game and very poorly. Driedger did much, much better in the opener.

God, I hope we don't end up with a $10 million backup.

I like him. 19 goals last year. Besides the covid he’s healthy. Was one of the few who showed up for the play ins last year. Well liked in the room. Happy to have him back.

He had a nice little bump while playing with Mcdavid and cashed in on some PP tap in goals as we all expected. Was he really an effective player for the Coilers though? Absolutely not. This guy does more coasting than a sail boat in 80km/he winds

The Oilers have 4 forwards. After that, it's a bar that I think I could step over.

Just a reminder. With an Oilers loss tonight, the Flames would finish a 5 day break on Sunday a point up in the standings on them with 3 games in hand.

Go Leafs.

Probably better for us if Toronto loses.

But F that, an Oiler loss is always the preferred outcome

Exactly. Too early in the season to worry about posturing. Til then always cheer for an Oilers loss.

He's only going to score if you throw him up with Mcdavid and then likely bumping down RNH. Then if some of those rumors are true about Mcdavid wanting actual functioning linemates he will be mad again that he's stuck with Real deal and caveman all over again

Ooh that stang quote is almost signature worthy for later this year about Neal.

Did he though. How many goals did he score in 2020?
