Might be 25% deferred and 25% reduction not getting paid back.
Cost of living in Edmonton is so low, doesn’t really matter.

These are typically capped. So the guy making 85k only got dropped to 75k.

They're going to love paying those guys after they're fired. That is going to be a fun process.

It is too bad the Oilers owner is so cash strapped he can't afford to pay his employees.
Let me look him up:
Quote:
Daryl Katz Chairman, Rexall Health
REAL TIME NET WORTH $3.6B as of 1/22/21
- Daryl Katz amassed a fortune in the pharmacy business, buying the Canadian rights to U.S. franchise Medicine Shoppe in 1991.
- A few years later he snatched up struggling Canadian drugstore chain Rexall, then expanded to the U.S. market.
- Katz, the son of a drug store owner, has since sold off all of his pharmacy operations, pivoting his Katz Group to real estate and entertainment.
- He has been co-developing a $2 billion, 25-acre complex in Edmonton's downtown that will include offices, condos and retail, among others.
- Katz also owns his native city's NHL team, the Edmonton Oilers.

$3.6 billion. Maybe he is saving up to buy a pipeline.

Lots of businesses who rolled back wages probably kept the roll backs in place as permanent cuts, lots of others probably restored wages and salaries but never gave back the deferred money.

Nobody lives in Edmonton because they want to. Your soul dies a little bit each day that you live here. It might not cost you money...but it costs you something much more valuable.

Well...yes. Very likely. But it should be pointed out that at this juncture we're not out of the woods yet.
The NHL still doesnt have fans in the stands, so its not like its 'Business as Usual' for them yet either.
