Good, hefty fine.

If guys get too casual they could derail the whole season for everyone.

It's tough to always adhere, but it's tough for everyone.

Hockey players wives.....

At work you don't have to agree or disagree with rules and regulations, we just follow them.

She's going to get a talking to from the NHL. They're going to suspend her from being at home with Ovie.

That's a yikes tweet. Hopefully Ovi has some good ol fashioned Russian sense and tells her to keep her Covid opinions offline.

His statement was dripping with sarcasm haha.

He doesn't give a #### and I'm sure gave her the go ahead.

It's all about mitigating against unnecessary risks and exposure. It's just eliminating one more source of potential transmission scenario.

Yes, it sucks that everyone has to follow the rules. But the rules are the rules.

Plus, it's also PR. The NHL keep advertising how their players are all real careful masking up and following protocols as much as they can. People will accept it if a Covid outbreak occurred in the dressing room or during a game, because that's the accepted risk that was deemed necessary in order for the games to be played. If the outbreak gets traced back to an unnecessary event such as a bunch of guys hanging out in a room together, then the PR of that would not look good.

4 key players out for the next 4 games

Stephen Whyno @SWhyno
Capitals coach Peter Laviolette says four COVID-19 protocol players -- Alex Ovechkin, Ilya Samsonov, Evgeny Kuznetsov and Dmitry Orlov -- are in quarantine and he believes they'll miss the next four games.

Stephen Whyno @SWhyno
Laviolette said there was a positive virus case among Capitals players, then NHL did contact tracing.

I get that rules are rules and they have to be followed by everyone. I totally agree with the fine for not following the rules.

But is it really necessary that they quarantine if the only people in the room were players from the team? Seems kind of drastic and not really practical. I guess if they were willing to break the rules once, you might not be able to take them at their word that they didn't break them before as well. Is that the point?

This is a situation similar to the Denver Broncos and why they had a practice squad receiver play QB for an entire game.

This rule is in place because in order to get a "go ahead" from health authorities the NHL made/ was forced to make all sorts rules, regulations and protocols in the name of optics.

Apparently the Caps were warned about breaking COVID protocols after the first game of the season. So this is in response to them not taking the protocols seriously.

Let’s be honest. This isn’t the first time Kuznetsov spent 100K on a hotel party.

I see Kuznetsov is wondering in that article who the rat was with respect to the initial locker room incident

Seems that it is someone who takes Covid more seriously than he does

I took it completely the other direction and presumed Ovi was using her social media to voice his dissatisfaction to avoid fines/further punishment from the league.
