That’s not a terrible pick picking philips here; I think he has the biggest boom potential out of the remaining prospects that aren’t from this year’s draft class.
Voting Philips too though I believe this round is between Foo/Gillies

Bingo I think you need to check to see if Scorp has worn out the Klimchuk button

Gonna go with Foo on this one. I liked his brief stint in Calgary when we had a bit of injury problems.

So when you look year over year you have Jankowski graduated (he would have been high), Fox traded (he would have cracked the top five I would think), many staying pretty much where they were.
Dube moved up.
Mangiapane has moved up.
Will be interesting to see where Phillips comes in as he's done nothing but a) produce at the WHL level and b) go ghost mode at Flames camps.

I am interested in this as well. He may just need a season in the A to learn how to play against 'men'.... or he could just be another junior star that couldn't play against higher competition. I think it's at least somewhere in between but problem with Philips is that if hes not putting up big points he doesnt have much of a role on a pro team.

I could possibly be in the minority, but I can see Phillips as a bottom 6 RW on an NHL team not the Flames. We just have better options.

I feel confident Gillies will play a lot more NHL games than Foo over thei careers as if he doesn’t pan out with the Flames he will get an opportunity to back up another team.

I picked Foo, but yeah Gillies would have been an easy choice too.

Same here. I think Phillips has more upside than Foo. It will most likely take Phillips a couple of seasons in the AHL to get strong enough to possibly play in the NHL, but I think he will be better than Foo.

Gillies. He's taking longer to reach the NHL than I would like, but he's still got starter potential. I get the sense that he will more likely be a good backup, but that's still valuable.
After him I have Foo and then Phillips.
After that, you can expect these feelings from me about the rest of our prospect base.

After the next grouping of four (Foo, Gillies, Klimchuk, Phiilips)
I'd rank the rest as
ME Pettersson
Eetu Tuulola
Linus Lindstrom
Demitrous Koumontzis
Adam Ruzicka
Filip Sveningsson
Martin Pospisil
Milos Roman
Dmitri Zavgorodny
Then Meh
Out of that grouping of players, you're hoping that one or two turns into an Eat Bread or Phillips. MEP has the highest raw skill of pretty much all of the Flames forward prospects.
