Great to hear the Central courses are in good shape... Alberta Springs is one of my favourite courses for the value and I can’t recommend the old Course at Wolf Creek enough.

Never used them, but saw that Grand Slam Golf Academy was advertising for Odyssey / Toulon putter fitting.

Went back a dozen pages or so and didn't see much mention of clubs so I figure I'm in the clear...

I'm looking to get a new set of irons, first new set in far too long. What's the best approach to hit a few different brands and get a feel for what is out there before settling on a model and ordering up?

Might go hit up SportChek and Golf Town and see what they have there (and see what they might have leftover from last year's stock), as well as Golf Traders to see what they might have.

I'd go to golf town for a few hours and hit a bunch of clubs. Thats what I did prior to buying my new set.

Titleist is at the Golf Canada Range on Thursday if you want to hit the new stuff outside.

As Weitz mentioned, GT is your best bet.

Earlier in the season, both River's Edge and Heritage Point have several manufacturers on site at the same time. That's the best way to test all of the new stuff. Plus you get to see the ball flight.

i would suggest going for a fitting at some place that has the requisite gadgetry. it can sometimes be wroth getting your shafts fitted for you.

i recommend simply golf in the golfdome district on 50th. seriosuly though, i only recommend them because it has been the only place i have ever been fitted at and i was happy with the results.

at one time, there was a callaway fitting place on 114th ave se not far from deerfoot inn.

The Nanton golf course has a diving/nesting Hawk on hole #15. On Sunday a female member got to close to a tree where the nest was and got cut for 7 stitches on the top of her head.

There were big-horned owls a few years back at confederation. Was pretty awesome to see the babies grow up over the summer, and mom and dad would hoot at you as you were teeing off. Nest was directly above teebox on 2.

A sweet side product is there were very few geese that year around the pond...

Golf Town has grips on for 30% off this week and 20% off shafts.

The finishing hole at Ruttgers Bay Lake in Northern Minnesota. It's a few miles from my brothers lakehouse and a favourite course we both love to play when I travel over to visit him and his wife.

It's 215 yards to the green where a gallery of patrons sitting on the balcony watch your every tee shot. Put the ball on the green and they the cheer and clap in approval. Put it in the water or miss the greem, a chorus of boo's and cat calls rain down on you

A nice deep woods course that loves to eat balls that are hooked or sliced out of bounds.

Golf in that part of Minnesota is incredible, and reasonably priced.

I just did my stag at Breezy Point. 3 nights, 6 rounds all our food and booze for $800 CAD.

Any interest in a group buy for Vice balls? They’re cheaper if you buy 5 dozen. I’m in for 2 dozen if anyone wants to pitch in!
