You shouldn't be waiving these two. They have value. They are tradeable.
Too late now I suppose but you could have traded them and freed up cap space that way.

I totally thought you would make a claim since we were both in a similar situation (lots of cap, no goalie).
Normally I wouldn't claim him but a lot of teams still need goalies (I think) so I was worried I'd miss out on the Batch 2 guys or have to really overpay.

The timing of the waiver is a critical piece here. Teams are still holding out hope for UFA batch 2. Now you have a player where you know exactly how much you would be paying. Put in a claim, if you miss out you hope for UFA

People get that mindset that why pay when you can get FA player for free
It’s a dangerous game of musical chairs where there can only be one winner. In todays age everyone thinks they are that winner
At the end of the day, Cheese always finds a seat when the music stops
