Feels weird and a little sad. Show isn't going to be nearly as good without him.

Ya, I don't listen to 960 much after the draft, but I highly doubt I'll tune in much if they just use a mix of the guys they currently have.
Maybe radio is dead

Really going to miss this morning show. Always made me laugh on my hour long commute. Good luck to Boomer. He is a good dude.

I listen to 960 on my commute and at work when I have a little down time. It 100% will not be the same without Boomer.

Warrener hinted that Boomer does have something lined up after this and Boomer confirmed he's not ready to retire yet.

I listened to the segment where Boomer choked up and said he wanted to swear. But what did Rhett say to prompt it, I can't remember and I literally just listened to it

Boomer has been a staple for me for such a long time, it's going to be sad not hearing him every morning anymore.

I forgot about Boomer's suspension back in the day, and him getting choked up again talking to Walker about it and helping him through it.

Boomer was a better host than Mike Richards. I said it.
Richards was good, but it was a lot of over-the-top jokes and comedy.
Boomer is a great host.

And that's that. End of an era for Calgary radio. Even as a staunch Oilers, Esks/Elks fan, the morning show was a staple on my morning commute over the years. The drive won't be the same without Boomer.

I feel a bit empty inside knowing there will be no more Boomer while I have breakfast and get ready for the day...
I've already started searching for an archive of all the classic pre-covid shows. No luck. If anyone stumbles across one, I'd love to hear about it.

That was it. He said it in jest but it was a misstep that was bound to go viral between Calgary and Regina.

It was a different time, Richards wanted to be a shock jock at a time when that was big in radio. His Michelle Wie and Kiprusoff accents and similar bits I found entertaining but he was a try hard and his style of show has certainly "expired" Boomer was just Boomer, and whenever you get that type of show, thats what makes it great, timeless and ever evolving.
I have always listened to 960 but really got into the show over Covid when, for three months I had nothing to do. Waking up at 6 and listening to the stupid candy brackets and their interviews of anyone and everyone were the highlight of my day in many ways. Also interesting today when interviewing Stephan Brunt, how he asked what the future held and Brunt was kind of speechless given what ha recently happened, once again, to Rogers radio.

They played Lou reading the candy brackets yesterday, which Boomer and I think Pinder wrote for Lou to read. I was goddamn dying listening, it was just ridiculously funny.
I agree with a lot of folks that Boomer was a great host. He did an amazing job of keeping things moving and getting the most out of whoever they had calling in. I missed a lot of the Rhett stuff this morning and will go back and listen to the podcast, they had some amazing chemistry when that was in it's prime.
