lol that movie is so funny, Iceland being the only nordic country that up until recently 15yrs or so, had never played hockey. The winters here in the city are too warm for outdoor skating rinks, and we have like 2 or 3 rinks now in the entire country.
And wtf is with all the Germans on team Iceland in that movie lol.

Yes, they really are. I have a hard time convincing my Canadian friends that the world's best hot dogs come from a corrugated-iron shack in Reykjavik--but they really do.
Looks awesome. I'd say do the run, rest for a day and then get out of the city for the rest of your trip.
Also, be prepared for pretty much any kind of weather, regardless of the time of year. The only thing it won't be is blistering hot or really really cold.

I think I would have voted for them too. The funny thing is, I actually know one of their candidates--Elsa Yeoman. I met her in Iowa, if you can believe it. I really wonder if there's going to be a massive sea-change in Icelandic political culture, and perhaps a multiplication of parties. It'll be really interesting to see what happens on a national level the next time Icelanders go to the polls.
I think "Allskonar fyrir Aumingja!" would be my new sig if I didn't think there would be exactly two people on this board who would laugh--and I'm one of them.

That's my usual modus operandi . . . . . . find a race in a place I want to go, book it for the first day or two I'm there, then enjoy the rest of the vacation after it's done. It's usually a great, fairly quick way to scout out the high spots of a city or local area while surrounded by thousands of your closest, newest friends.
Iceland would be a beautiful place to visit.
I'd like to run the Mumbai half-marathon or something in Hong Kong in the next year or so too, with the same thought.
We'll see.

My cousin just returned from running a half marathon on the Great Wall of China. He said it was an awesome experience, except they gave him a Chinese name on the entry form that loosely translates to too slow.

Apparently Jon Gnarr is talking about a lot of good ideas so there seems to be some hope he will do some good in Reykjavik.

Also, what are their teeth like as a nation? I can't stand bad teeth, it is the first thing I look at when I meet someone.

Not that I have anything against beautiful women, but I would have been inspired to visit Iceland without them. It's a beautful country. You guys are lucky to be from such a unique locale.

Actually Hjallmarson from the Hawks even though he's not Icelandic has a very Icelandic last name, and of course the announcers have created their own way of saying it which of course is wrong.

My humble opinion, the dog is unique, it has some lamb in it as well as other meats. The crisp skin on the dog, the buns are different than I'm used to in Canada and the condiments are outstanding. The big thing is the Icelandic sinnep (mustard) which is a very awesome taste.

All of it. As Thor said, the hot dog is great, and the condiments are fantastic. (there's only one way to order it: with everything)
The bun is the only thing that isn't all that special. It's just a hot dog bun, though it's maybe a little different from what you'd find in Canada.
This is my challenge to anyone visiting Iceland. Have one on your first day there. I challenge you to not have another one before you leave. I guarantee you can't do it.
Also, they're really cheap relative to Icelandic food.
Would either if you Icelandic speakers do me a favour and google to see if there is a recipe for making the hot dog itself? One of my many neglected hobbies is sausage making so I tried in English and Icelandic but came up with a blank.
