Gawdin for me. I like his motor and his intensity.

Between the two, Ruzicka seems to have the higher ceiling but all indications are that Gawdin is currently more consistent. Gawdin it is.

I have not seen enough of either to have any kind of educated or valid opinion. I simply have a better gut feeling about Gawdin than I do about Ruzicka.

I went with Ruzicka as I have seen him play quite a bit, so total bias, but he is noticeable every shift when I have seen him.

I went with Ruzicka because I think you could argue his draft plus-1 year was better than Gawdin’s draft plus-1 and draft plus-2 seasons. Yes, Gawdin’s draft plus-3 season was amazing but I still think the evidence points to Ruzicka having a higher ceiling.

Almost identical draft positions. Similar draft year production. Gawdin's phenominal last season. Ruzicka's better D+1 season versus Gawdin's more pedestrian D+1 and 2. Ruzicka's superior size. Gawdin's superior energy. RH v LH.

A decision between a guy that was no show in the playoffs versus a guy that could easily be another Bryce Cameron....

I will go with Ruzicka because maybe he figures it out.

I think Gawdin was injured in the playoffs. I heard on the fan awhile back that he was getting freezing injections in his hand (? If I remember right) everygame.

Edit: seperated shoulder

Once his season ended, we learned that Gawdin had a separated shoulder throughout the playoffs. And he STILL put up 32 points in those 24 games and won MVP. I don’t generally condone playing through injuries, but that’s lots of heart and talent

I know the playoff thing keeps getting thrown out there, but to defend Ruzicka the entire team didn't really produce. The other team just had the answer for Sarnia. Kyrou, who was draft much higher and pretty highly thought of, only managed one more point than Ruzicka (4 to Ruzicka's 3. Both played 12 games). Kyrou was also drafted a year earlier. Sure there may be some consistency issues, but I think he should get some slack considering he produced at the same level as Kyrou. I think Just like Andersson he gets a little more slack as he learns how to be a pro.

For Anderson it was a fitness thing. Ruzicka from all accounts just seems to not show up at times at all. Or Float around.

Voted Gawdin.

Small sample size for sure. But wasn't he also a disappointment at the WJCs?

i didn't watch a tone of the Slovakia games, but I did watch the one where they upset the Americans. I recall him being out there a lot.
