jayswin, I think you're right on the money. Some bands are really taking the piss and bleeding fans dry.
Of course it's still entertainment and this is still capitalism but the shakedown leaves a really sour taste in my mouth.
Paid $150 (AU) to see the Killers and the same for Arctic Monkeys but these are bands I've been listening to for 15 years. I won't be doing it for many others.
Oh, and your boys Alexisonfire are coming out too. $100 for them.

The pit is supposed to fit 800-1000 people. Hopefully that means the stage takes up most of the width of the playing field and people in the stands get a closer view.
They have had some of the best stage setups in history so I expect this to be no different
This also isn't fat Vince Neal singing one of every six words...it's not 1989 Seattle Metallica but they still put on a really good show...recent shows have been really tight.
Openers are also bigger than most headliners...price is a bargain IMO

Yeah, and the last time I saw them at BC Place in 2017 I think I paid about $220-$230 after fees so $250 a show isn't that bad. And with in-the-round more people get a better view. And there's no repeats so you're getting about 32-36 different songs.
I wonder if Metallica will make changes to their concert openers given the news regarding Pantera being kicked out of some euro festivals due to Anselmo being a white supremacist.

I've not really listened to Mammoth WVH but I don't think they are a headliner band. Five Finger Death Punch is a headliner band. Not my favorite band but I have seen them live and they put on a good show. I've seen Ice Nine Kills twice and they put on a fantastic show and I expect them to win some fans over on this tour.
Pre sale code is ROCKSTAR and wow.... Nickelback typically draws 6k now at the Dome (barely over a third full) and yet anything close to the stage is $400-$700/ticket.
Lol, basically everything other than the top half of the very back sections (216-221) are minimum $120/ticket, and mostly $180+. That's embarrassing for a band that draws just over a third capacity at hockey arenas. I'll wait it out and will probably be able to grab something cheap closer to the show.
The reformed Blink 182 tour is one of the hottest tickets in recent years and they weren't anywhere near what Nickelback is charging (we got $120 near the stage).
Anyone have the pre-sale code for nickelback at the domestic yes....nickelback.
I'm not a Nickelback fan but I have fond memories of them playing in the town I used to live in when they were Village Idiot. I know it's cool to hate on them but IMO it's pretty neat so see how far they made it from their cover band days.

Wow, I misjudged that, I guess Nickelback is hot again. They could barely give away tickets their last two tours and looked like they were toast as an arena headliner (5-6k, 1/3 full last two tours through the Dome).
This tour they jacked the prices up to ridiculous prices that I pointed out a couple of posts up and figured they'd struggle to even get their 5-6k this time around. Looks like it will easily sell out and 90% of the Dome was sold by Friday afternoon when the general sale started.

Huh. Well...in fairness, my initial reaction would have been the same as yours.
Did they release something new that I'm unaware of or has their target demographic just aged to the point of having more disposable income or something?

The had a new album this fall, haven't checked what the sales are like. I know Covid helped so many mediocre bands to sell more tickets than previously, but this is beyond that. They sold their show like a top selling pop act and successfully sold 90% of the Dome at stupid high prices.
