Why? It has been reported for a long time they were trying to move him.

Interesting trade. Struggling player for struggling player. Maybe a change of scenery will be good for both players.

Good trade. Rask needed a fresh start and Nino gives the Canes some jam and size in their top six

Looks like a solid trade for both teams. A shake-up and give both players a chance to start afresh.

Surprised Hurricanes would want to take on that extra salary.

Yeah I would have loved to add Niederreiter. I like it for Carolina.

Trading a guy like Niederreiter in a season where his PDO is at .959 seems like a sell low scenario.

Does anyone know if Rask is considered a decent defensive centre? I have almost no knowledge of him beyond his point totals.

MIN saves some salary and gives up some production, so it seems decent for both teams on the surface. Cap savings for MIN, and CAR is undoubtedly hoping for a little extra scoring punch from Nino.

Meh Carolina will manage to lose this trade too. I mean it wasn't long ago that they "fleeced" the Flames for stat darling Dougie Hamilton.

Does this deal suggest/imply Dougie Hamilton may be moved?

Just great... with no Niederreiter there is no longer any reason to attend the next game against them.

Not this move specifically but most rumors have said they are shopping a RH d-man (Likely one of Faulk, Pesce, or Hamilton) for a top 6 forward.

So it's possible he could move.

Most people thought it was Faulk who would be moved but Brind Amour seems to prefer Faulk to Hamilton. And Pesce is their main PKer and has good chemistry with the untouchable Slavin.

Leading people to feel like Hamilton may be the odd man out.

Such a lame game that I am willing to offer 75% of face value to anyone who needs to dump their tickets.
