That's exactly what happened. There was no reason to put his stick there. There was no puck near where he had positioned his stick and he was skating in from behind. He knew what he was doing. He just got caught.

I feel bad for Merzlikins. He was so close to a shutout and instead gets beat for 4 goals and a loss.

Korpisalo to start next game?

Both have looked great in my books. Probably go back to Korpisalo because I'd imagine Elvis' confidence is shaken a bit. Pretty incredible the BJs have two amazing goalies after losing Bob.

One of the craziest series ever.

Not quite the Miracle on Manchester tonight, but then it would be hard for any team to match the Oilers' ineptitude.

Crazy? Happens in Leafs games all the time

(Except usually it is just the Bruins predictably doing it to the Leafs )

Also props to Hughson for a great call on the game winner.

"Kapanen scores!"

Jim you've been covering the Leafs now for quite a while since when has Kappy been on PP1. He is the worst. Jealous of you western viewers who don't have to listen to the guy.

I don't mind Hughson as long as he's not calling the canucks, but Cuthbert is a far superior broadcaster.

The flames have also had better regional broadcast teams than the leafs for a while now. At one point last season the flames had Ball and Hrudey while the leafs had Romanuk and Millen calling their game.

The Leafs pulled a reverse-Leafs! Which is classic Leafs when you think about it.

One of my best friends got some really bad news and he's a leafs fan so I found myself cheering for the leafs last night... I feel ashamed and dirty.

I enjoy the drama in that though.
They didn’t have to be urgent because the BJs just refused to press them. Torts’ “block everything” system failed. Plus they were overconfident at 3-0, and then started to freeze up as the goals went in.

He's trending on Twitter for that call last night, Leaf fans are all over him. Although as some said it was the 7th period of hockey he called yesterday so maybe cut the guy some slack.

But that haircut in the Lays commercial doesn't help his cause any

Man, I'm so pumped for this game. Torts isn't an opposing coach I'd want my team to face though. Let's go Leafs!

This top line is amazing for the Leafs. Complete domination and Tavares in particular is so damn good.

Not even a shot on net, what a bum!

What's the rule on touching broken sticks? I'm always confused. CBJ moved a broken stick out of play, but for some reason, I feel like I remember teams getting a penalty for this.

You can definitely move a stick out of the way, but can't push it towards the puck or another player. The BlueJackets were in the offensive zone so it's in their best interest to get the sticks in the neutral zone.
