Default Where to buy laptop...

Future Shop, Best Buy, Mem Express, Staples...others ??

So I now need to replace my wifes laptop and need to do it today.

What are your recommendations for where to purchase.

I have found comparable units at each place for what she wants in a laptop.

Personally i have purchased at Mmex (Mine) and staples (dead acer) previously.

It will probably be mem ex but looking for options...

Thanks.

Memory Express will get you a better deal for what you buy (power vs price). BB and FS have really nice store credit cards tho that make buying such items a little easier. If you're paying cash, go memex

Do you have Tigerdirect where you are? They are great for good deals.

Doesn't really matter where you buy a laptop if you need to get it in store. edit: As Trad_Ale mentioned don't do Laptop Depot or Computer Trends, you wont save enough to warrant the age of the laptop you will end up with.

Best way is to order online though.

Just an addition to that, I really think Dell's support is good enough to give it the edge of those 3 options.

I highly recommend Lenovo.ca or any Lenovo branded laptop.

They've been rated #2 (behind Apple) laptop manufacturer for the last 3 years by a half-dozen tech sites for a good reason.

If things are a little rocky, and she might be a future ex-wife soon, definitely DO shop at Laptop Depot to f her over and show her who's boss.

Ended up getting this. Plus an enclosure for her old HD to see if it is still alive.

Good choice, I was going to recommend against Dell because the quality has been going down with them lately and they refuse to issue recalls or admit fault when their cheap parts cause problems. Also customer service with them dealing with said problems was a nightmare. I think you made a wise decision.

I hate waiting for items to ship...for that reason Dell was out.

For this I was in and out in 20 minutes.

If you're going Dell, my recommendation is to buy one of their business-grade notebooks. The warranty support is awesome.

Source: I leased a Precision M2400 notebook from Dell and spilled Orangina on the unit. Dell replaced the motherboard next-business-day, no questions asked, and I hadn't bought the accidental damage warranty.

I like NCIX and Memory Express and sometimes Dell. Dell has their Days of Deals on now.

It is best to choose the laptop first by reviews and touching it. Then see who has the lowest price and best warranty. Use redflagdeals and shop bot for deals.

Hard to judge laptops by companies building now. For.example acer is known as a bargain brand and asus as premium, but acer has some models that have come out.better.

Also pricematch with memory express. They match + 25% of the difference.
