Seriously? Sheesh, definitely something for me to consider in 6 days when I call Rogers to discuss my then expired contract...

You mean, Samsung?
Google was shown not to be doing that with Nexus devices.

So the wife wants a 32GB iPad Air White.... What's the quickest way to get one - order via Apple.ca or hope that one can be found around town without lining up?

Has anyone used the Fido (or any other carriers for that matter) reservation system for the 5s? I'm 71st in line. I put in the reservation last week sometime and it hasn't moved. I'm assuming Fido will get a ton of phones in at once and my spot will jump up considerably?
Additionally, I know it's possible to get a phone from an Apple store as well. Would I have to pay full price for it at the Apple store, even though I'm getting it subsidized by Fido? Or can the Apple store handle all of that?

Because Apple only sells unlocked phones online or in-store, you have to pay full price.

That is incorrect. Apple is an authorized dealer for Fido, they can do an upgrade in store

I had no idea. Thanks for the clarification. I actually wish I would've known that earlier

If you dont want to line up the day they are released you can pre-order and most likely get it delivered on the day that they go on sale.

They are available online now from apple, bestbuy and futureshop. Stock is starting to get "light" in some models.

Guys, please do not post iPad stuff in the iPhone thread. Use the iPad thread.
Post like the last one make it sound like there is stock on the iPhone.

This is somewhat related, since I mentioned in this thread about how I was going to upgrade my iPhone 4 to the 5S and didn't in the end because Rogers screwed up: Because Fido has a great deal on right now (Smart Plan - 2 GB data, unlimited nationwide calling etc. for $65/month) it looks I won't be trying to get a 5S anymore and will go with the Moto X. Double my current data for $10 a month less on a $100 phone? Yes please.
Rogers wasn't willing to match, so both them and Apple lose a customer in this case.

FYI, I've been 70th in line for the Fido reservation for a iPhone 5s for a little over a week. I was at Chinook mall and noticed the Best Buy Mobile store sells phones for Fido. I walked in and got an iPhone 5s 32GB Space Grey on the spot, and they set it up with the retention plan I negotiated. Check out T-booth or Best Buy Mobile if you don't want to wait on the reservation system.

When I walked into Future Shop to get my wife one they had tons. Reservation systems are odd.

Chances are they had lots and lots of 16GBs? Granted, the big box stores are more likely to have a larger amount of stock because the iPhones are used for every carrier minus Koodo.

I can't account for the other sizes, they had them separated, but that could have been colour. It was also Bell/Rogers that had the stock now that you mention it.

I "think" that the iPhones arrive at the store (Best Buy, Apple Store, etc) and they all come unlocked. When the sales person activates it, they also send a request to Apple to lock the IMEI to the appropriate provider.
That way they don't have to stock based on provider; just based on sizes and colours.
