Thats why i was never a big fan of Bouwmeester. Sure he could have mowed down some Edmontonians, who are no good but they don't deserve death.

With the sort of money he should (emphasis on "should")have socked away over the years there really is absolutely no excuse.

For anyone that has been or knows someone that has been hit by a drunk driver, they can go Fu#% themselves. There is NO reason to drink and drive.

hesitate to defend anyone for a DUI but haven't we seen this a thousand times before, we worship men for playing children's games, they are brought up to do little else, then when it turns out they are unable to cope with life and bury themselves in the bottle or on drugs we castigate them for not being a rounded well grounded individual able to make good choices.

Yes, what horrible struggles our super-rich athletes endure. Truly a testament to their strength that they don't all drive drunk all the time.

Get Drunk, Get High, Whatever.

Call a cab or walk. Substance abuse doesn't necessitate driving impaired.

You're rich. Even if you're not rich. Getting a ride somewhere is as easy as a few taps on the phone.

Disgraceful.

Not that anyone should drink and drive but yeah when you have millions of dollars you could have someone waiting outside the bar to drive you home and you would make more money in interest for the time you are drinking then what you have to pay them.

Just for clarity - he refused a breathalyzer (an offence here which is exactly equal to DUI) and was charged with something down there called “suspicion of drunk driving”. I’m betting he pleads to something lesser.

This is really too bad. Thankfully no one was hurt, but this really is a shame.

A car swerving all over the road, wow. This is not a simple not taking a breathalyzer technicality.

I have nothing to add accept these cringey personalized Todd Bertuzzi memmo messages that seem to be all the rage these days for former celebs/athletes to try and generate a bit of revenue durimg these covid times.

Topless Bertuzzi's are extra cringey.

I can't believe this take and how many people thanked it.

Every single person has issues. Everyone.

Every single DUI case is associated with someone that has issues

A person who gets a DUI after going through a tough divorce is no better or worse than Bert but we don't say "hesitate to defend this person BUT they were getting wrecked in a divorce"

Do I personally hate him for it? No and empathy is needed, he is human. Bert got a DUI, there is no excuse for it. There is no "but" - simple as that.
