Man, the descent into right-wing social regressiveness among multiple states in the last couple of weeks is debilitating.
The culture war stuff has really ignited many - including smart posters here - and its being co-opted by the right to essentially cover any issue they want passed.
Talk about racism in school - woke attack, need to outlaw it
Talk about sexuality - wokeness strikes again, need to outlaw it
Whatever they can tie to the culture wars they will.

DeSantis has approved a bill that will see the creation of a new police force to target voter fraud in Florida. The pieces are being put in place for this year's midterms and beyond.

I'll have to find it, but my YouTube algorithms led me to a clip from MSNBC that discussed a report out of the Kremlin that discusses Tucker Carlson as an asset that should be used and exploited because of his talking points.
It's crazy how damning that is, and how nobody will care.

It's so brazenly obvious Fox News talking heads are Russian assets all the way from the Trump-era. They were constantly and immediately mirroring of Putin talking points all the way from the Trump era word for word. Worse was the recent whiplash inducing about face from downplaying the Ukrainian invasion as justified as a justified "limited" war to Russia was in the wrong within the day after Russia sanctions hit and money stopped flowing out of the Kremlin. But yes, too many Americans brainwashed into the cult of better Red than Dem crowd.
I found your clip.

What is happening in the US at the state level is absolutely unconscionable. It amazes me the levels some of these governments are going to in this culture war.
The worst part is that it is slipping into provincial and local politics here as well.

An interview with Idaho’s lieutenant governor went off the rails after a reporter asked her why she spoke at an event hosted by a well-known white supremacist.
Last month, Lt Governor Janice McGeachin spoke at the America First Political Action Conference (AFPAC) in Orlando, Florida. The event was organised by Nick Fuentes, a white nationalist who was involved in both the 2017 “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia and the “Stop the Steal” rally that led to the 2021 Capitol riot.
Larry Summers is quite frankly one of the worst economic minds of the last few decades. If he's against something, pretty good chance it's the right move.

I personally think we're toast because of it, but perhaps that's a little dramatic.

I still don't really care about this story because I think it's part and parcel for American politics, but it's somewhat relevant because of how furiously the Dems and some of their media lackeys were trying to dismiss it as fake news.
Yeah, to me it was such a non-story. Some politicians kid trying to use his influence to his own advantage (not a non-story, but certainly not something that requires more than one day of press coverage).
I never thought the emails didn't exist. It just seemed like a "so what?"
