I take a look at a number of "high end" homes from time to time and more often than not, I find them underwhelming.

I think I always kinda assumed that famous people in this city live in river front homes or places like Elbow Park or Roxboro. Altadore (while obviously a nice neighbourhood) surprises me a little.

Clearly a fake article, don't most NHL players have an indoor basketball court with a 10 foot basket and a 11 foot ceiling.

I always suspect when these come out, the selling agent is leaking it hoping for a little it of a fame boost to offers. Find that guy who would pay an extra $70K to say he bought the house from Gio.

Those tend to be more "forever" homes in those areas. In the CBA era of hockey, most players are there for what 5-6 years in a city? Kind of a transient lifestyle.
As a result, most rent newly constructed high end places, which tend to be in the inner city areas. Easier to cut ties, with some tax advantages this way too.
Altadore / West Hillhurst / Bridgeland are all popular with Flames for this reason.

Oh yeah? Well in Jr. High one of my classmates lived next door to NHL referee Rob Schick in Lethbridge!

We used to ride our bikes up through that part of Altadore to get to Marda Loop on weekends, must have rode past that house a hundred times and never thought twice about it. Huh.

Funny coincidence, Tim Hunter now lives a block away from me.

I used to see Backlund and his wife walking their dog at the River Park off-leash area all the time when our Berner was still healthy enough to go to the off-leash park.

I didn’t know Tim Hunter is no longer coach of the Moose Jaw Warriors, I guess he was fired a couple years ago already.

He lives in garrison green. This year for halloween he dressed up as himself and handed out candy. Took pictures with the kids and his ring. It was cool.

2.2 mill is a bargain for a house like that here that's 2 or 2.5 times as much.
