It blows my mind that some Star Trek actors, especially people who had every day roles, could have any negative outlook on it. Jeri Ryan's atleast makes some sense since Mulgrew was just such a #### (apparently no one was particularly nice since they treated her like an interloper since her arrival was going to lead to someone else getting fired).
But most everyone else? Give me a break. You have a legion of loyal fans who venerate your work and keep you in royalty cheques. Smile, shake some hands and be thankful.
Not only that but most of the actors talked about making 10k on a good weekend on the convention circuit.
You always wonder, a lot of Star Trek actors, don't do much after the show is over. They make a great living just showing up at a convention, saying a few words and then signing autographs.

The Jeri Ryan interview was like the worst. She sadly said she couldn't view her time on Voyager with a lot of positives, because basically Kate Mulgew made her life a living hell for 4 years and sucked the joy out of being on a Star Trek show.
She also said that the character of Seven was a gift and that it gave her a career, so I think her feelings are more mixed about the whole thing. She obviously enjoys playing the character, otherwise she wouldn't have come back.
That entire episode of Center Seat was excellent. Loved hearing the stories from all those actors.

Reading the article, they actually re-did many things. Looks much better.
One unfortunate scene I noticed is at the "improved visual effects" part where V'Ger's ship looks like a late 90s CG model and with the higher resolution it looks even worse, like something you would make on your Voodoo 2 card.
This might be because they are basing this on the Foundation Imaging CGI models Paramount kept in their archives and those were made in 2001!
The only thing I don't like is the that they cast Uhura and now they are casting Kirk as well. These characters are super iconic and I don't think they belong in the series. I would have rather had a new communications officer. I have too much trouble trying to compare the new actor/actress to the original. The new Kirk looks like a lanky Gary Mitchell. The new Uhura doesn't have the cadence of Nichelle Nichols, etc.

You know...exploring and solving problems and such with a side of sleeping with aliens.
Could it be?
Reserving judgment. I don't have a lot of confidence they won't shrink the universe to the size of a warp bubble around the Enterprise, and everything will revolve around the crew who make snappy jokes while they try to solve a season long story arch involving time travel, a mirrror universe, or an anomaly threatening all civilization...

You forgot Time Travel...oh...nope. There it is.
Come on Star Trek...give us this one...come on!!

I’ll take it first directly into my vein via injection. If it’s no good I’ll look for a new drug.
But brain rot …my god man I’ve been working on that ever since I was born.
Why stop now?
They have said it won't have a season-long story arc, but more traditional Trek stories of the week.
Also, I believe Kirk won't be appearing until season 2, which is either already in-production, or he'll just have a brief appearance at the end of the first season.

I know, its such a nit pick, but it drives me crazy, when you have a massive Starship, crewed by 400 men and woman, and it maneuver's like a fighter jet.

This is consistent with the franchise, the big Dominion war battles looked like X-wings and TIE fighters buzzing each other, except with Jem Hadar battleships and Galaxy/Excelsiors.
That’s why ST ships would kick the sh out of SW ships, they can fight from huge distances, and can evade capital weapons at close range.
Is there a size comparison chart between Star Wars and Star Trek fleets?
Suppossedly the Imperial Star Fleet had about 25000 Star Destroyers, about a dozen Super Star Destroyers, and then millions of other ships ranging from patrol boats, to cruisers.
And it wasn't enough because the Empire took up a whole galaxy, and the Imperial Fleet was stretched pretty thin. that was one of the reason for the Death Star. Instead of mustering a massive fleet to deal with rebels, they would send in a small fleet of support ships and a death star to punatively destroy a planet of two.
Star Fleet wasn't actually that big. In TOS when the Enteprise goes back in time and the Earth pilot compliments Kirk on the Enterprise, he states that there were only a dozen like her.
At the Battle of 359, the Federation could only gather about 39 ships.
In the Dominion War When the Dominion disable the minefield, they indicated that the Dominion fleet was about 1200 ships and the Federation fleet was half that.
I think I also read somewhere that most of the Federation ships were really frigate size to Destroyer size and those numbered in the thousands. But they only had a few dozen of the true cruiser to dreadnought size vessels.
