I thought maybe they'd take a run at Garret Sparks, but playing in the ECHL is likely a preferable location to Edmonton.

Luckily for Sparks he’s a UFA so he can avoid Edmonton unlike whomever they claim off waivers next.

Wow. That goaltending situation is a bit of a nightmare.
But thats okay! Kostinem has shown in the past that he can shoulder a ton of games with many, many shots against.

A lot of veteran tweeners tied up in taxi squad contracts. Normally, these guys would be over in Europe, in one of the few non-prospect AHL spots, or twiddling their thumbs in their agents office.
Sellers' market it appears.

The Oilers are only major injury from being last in the NHL.
If I were an Oiler fan, I would puke, then I would look at the top of the 2021 draft list to see who is available.

Is he a good coach though? At this point who knows. Look at the production of everyone not Drai and McDavid, look at their awful defensive scheme. I'd argue that he's a mediocre coach with two great players and he does next to nothing to develop anything else.
And his actions in Arizona showed that he has character flaws.
