Gotta love the CFL. They just keep recycling the same old group.

It was kind of a foregone conclusion that the chipmunk would hire his buddy Maas. His sideline tirades are always good film but the shine is off this guy as his offense wasn't good in Regina and his coaching record isn't great either.

Yeah the same old group is hired mainly because those guys know what the parameters/restrictions are around coaching and dealing with talent and rosters in the low paying CFL…and the coaches own salaries as well, subject to a cap as well.
All those elements deter teams from taking a chance on unproven coaches until they have some CFL experience. A new energetic coach comes in from a US college trying to be a motivator, and realizes that many of these players, even starters don’t want to be here, still having NFL dreams and playing for themselves. And there being an import quotient, for roster and onfield personnel decisions. And money is tight all over the place in an organization, both again for roster and even day to day off field needs nevermind salaries…it’s a budget league and teams can’t really waste time by having two or three bad seasons trying to fit a square coach into a round peg.
If you played and spent time in the CFL you understand and accept and work around these limitations as coaches, whereas someone from the outside wouldn’t…but trying to be the catalyst for change doesn’t work and wastes a season or two for the club….also, look at last years Als owner, whose idea of owning a pro football team was a lot difference than the reality of owning a CFL team.
It’s a chicken and egg thing of course too.

If I recall correctly, it was about the real possibility of Nathan Rourke signing with a NFL team (it was down to two or three teams and Tampa Bay appeared to be the top contender).

Good for him. I thought maybe the Raiders would take a stab given their current situation but as long as he hitches on to a team it's good news.

Yeah i like those guys coming back to the red and white....both were winners and leaders.
Both have had some coaching experience as well.
Slow shift happening among all facets of the team.
Now its all about getting the right personnel in place...still a lot of work to do in that area.

Yassssssss. Nik and Juwan were/are both students of the game so I'm happy to see both of them willing to come back to Calgary to coach. Love it.

He started all 18 last year IIRC. Much needed signing.
Now there is a big list of guys not coming back at this point and i think 4 of them should be high priority.
Jameer Thurman first and foremost.
Cam Judge right behind him if he is playing CFL.
One, if not both of, Shawn Lemon and Orimilade.
Finally i really liked what Shawn Bane brought in his limited time. He can stretch the field like no other wide out on the roster.
Honorable mention to Jonathon Moxey as well. Great player.
