If the Sabres are truly willing to listen to any offers, might be a good time for the Flames to try and get some of their RW depth.
They have guys like A. Nylander, Cliff Pu, Hudson Fasching, Justin Bailey, Nicholas Baptiste in their system which could be young guys that could help the Flames depth in that position and potentially become regular NHLers.
Pu.
So he can be on a line with Foo.

Nicholas Baptiste of the Sabres would be a great bottom six guy. He's a more physical, less scoring Ferland. Wouldn't cost too much, I would think.

Moulson was willing to expand list and Buffalo was willing to eat some of the salary. Unfortunately, no interest at this time.

I would 100% trade Brouwer straight across for Matt Moulson. The salary is nearly identical, while Moulson only has 1 year left as opposed to 2 for Brouwer.
Neither player has earned even half of their contract over the last couple years, but atleast Moulson has proved that he has the potential to be a goal scorer (30+ goal years w/NYI) if he's with skilled players.
Not even Gaudreau & Monahan were able to inflate Brouwer's offense.

Both guys are done, so I would definitely trade Brouwer straight across just to get that extra year out the door. Not sure why Buffalo would entertain it, though.
