I have seen hundreds of different rock and roll bands perform over the last thirty years. But the best live band that I ever saw—and I saw them a dozen times and they were always great—was The Sadies. They were an absolutely magical act. They've been beloved here in Canada their entire career, and have commanded tremendous respect in the US too, where folks like Jon Spencer and Steve Albini are huge fans.
Dallas Good has died and I am gutted. I've always looked up to them as the absolute model of professionalism and dedication, and have loved loved loved the music that they make.

Aw man, this is sad news. I've been a big fan of the Sadies for a long time, seeing them live several times over the years. Just amazing musicians and songwriters.
They're also incredibly versatile, moving effortlessly between country, folk, psychedelia, and punk-rock, as well as collaborating with many other musicians. The album they did with Gord Downie is still one of my favorites of theirs. Dallas will be greatly missed.

I saw the Sadies for the first time when they were opening for The Hip I believe a few years ago. I'd never heard of them until then but they were good and I ended up buying a couple CDs at that show that I still listen to.

Their collaborations with Andre Williams, John Doe, and Jon Langford are also great. Such talent. RIP
