Yeah. The wife and kids are at their respective schools so I watch the good shows when they're not around and there are no distractions.

I have to wait till they get home for WandaVision. Watching stuff as a family is a burden...

There is no good way to reply to this.

It reminds me of a Louis CK bit...."there is no limit to what you can accomplish if you just dont care about the pain and suffering of any particular group of people."

Its sad. Its evil. Its despicable. But its true.

What I hope we've learned via Historical mistakes is that we can accomplish all of the same goals and objectives without resorting to that lack of humanity.

Its harder. Granted. But if its worth doing then its worth doing the work.

A couple of interesting little vignettes at the beginning for sure.

The Russians pulling out of Afghanistan to focus on the space race seems logical.
John Lennon and Pope JP2 reversal of fate, along with Prince Phillip's choice of bride all seemed funny - perhaps showing an alternate universe rather than a butterfly effect.

The really cool one was the Chernobyl meltdown didn’t happen due to tech from jamestown. Puts a little bow on Ivan’s suspicious look after Ed left the moon

It is always interesting to speculate how even the smallest things would change by different course of events.

For one thing, pop culture seemed to have progressed in the same timeline as our current world (the movies and music were the same). I think in reality, given how much culture is shaped by the events around us, this would see the sharpest divergence. For example, the early addition of women to the space program would have surely changed the views of women in pop culture.

Not criticizing, just an interesting discussion.

Also, thanks for the thread Troutman, I probably wouldnt have seen this show if i hadnt stumbled across this thread!

Stupid - she knows full well what her fate will be. She even said to the flight controller in a previous episode she “would have made the same call”.

I struggle a little bit with some of the dramatic pauses in this show, specifically during a critical time during an active operation all of mission control stops to view what is happening in the gallery as if time didn’t matter.

Or when a search has been conducted and the don’t look under the mattress???

Weird Hollywood mess ups that annoy me.

Other than that - I enjoy the show

That one was more soap opera than space opera. The long scene with the Baldwins was like bad dinner theatre. The new Aleida seems to be channeling Bender from The Breakfast Club. Tracy and Gordo are going to become a reality show on the moon.

There seems to be much in Season 2 that is not explained, unless I’m missing things.

When did the Baldwins adopt a daughter?

Who is Tracy’s fiancée?

How did Aleida end up in a trailer?

Sounds interesting...

Apple TV only ?

With Netflix and prime I'm not interested in another streaming option.

Apple hasn’t made an iMac with a DVD drive in 10 years and the MacBooks haven’t had one since 2013. There not putting this on DVD.

Moore's Battlestar Galactica was a terrific show, and one of my all-time favourites. It was a human drama that didn't get hung up by the trappings of warp drives, causality loops, or aliens of the week. Its approach was simple: Here’s an extraordinary, science fiction situation..how would real people cope with it?

For All Mankind refined that formula.

I've been hesitant to begin season two simply because seven-day breaks between episodes doesn't really work for me anymore, but man is it a struggle.

Is Karen going to get it on with Gordo's son?

Pam not too faithful to her partner.

Sally Ride made an appearance in one show.
