I'll wager my unborn children that Edmonton isn't getting 0 powerplays against NJ tomorrow.

Could the flu travel up the highway to the circus already?

Dude, it's coronato first year as a pro.

Zary and pospisil have been pro for a couple years.

You have to evaluate players according to where they are along their development path. Can't just look at a couole players at different ages with experience in college vs pro leagues through the same lens and then belly ache over a discrepancy between them.

This team would be completely different if you could turn his contract into two $5.25 million players who played up to their value. Or a proper $10.5 million player.

They are going to have to address the elephant in the room at some point.

Huberdeau has been a lot better lately and the fact that he’s overpaid is not his fault. Like Mangiapane, the blame lies with Treliving. I’d like to see what Huberdeau can do with some highly skilled offence minded linemates. Oh wait… we got to see that in Florida!

I would wager the Devils won't get any PPs. They have the #1PP in the league. The Oilers will get a minimum of 6.

Duclair and Bennett?

Sam Bennett and Anthony Duclair? Kadri, Lindholm and Toffoli are all more highly skilled than those two. The only guy in Florida who is more skilled is Barkov and he played on a different line than Huberdeau. You could even argue that Barkov might play a more structured two way game on his own that didn’t match with Huberdeau.

The problem with Huberdeau is not his linemates, his problem is he can’t seem to generate offence in any system that has a rigid defensive structure. It’s like Huberdeau is only effective when there is complete chaos on the ice and zero structure. Bennett and Duclair have never been confused as strong 200 foot or high IQ players. Huberdeau would thrive as an Oiler.

Not a word of a lie, this sounds realistic.

No shortage of sympathy for the likes of Kane, Draisaitl and McTumbleweed. Got to will them into the race to help the brand!

Mangiapane is one of the most frustrating players.

If there's a dangerous play of any kind developing and he's involved you already know there will a botched pass or shot that'll nullify it.

I applaud the effort, it's better than coasting. But he's more anti-clutch than Backlund this year

This was the first game I have been to in a long time. I thought for a young team they showed some real promise, especially during the first period, when their tape to tape passing was as good as any of the best teams. It was nice to get to see Wolf in the net, and to see players like Zary and Coronato show why they are the future of our team. All it took was for a couple of the rings off the post to go in, and the result would have been different.

I think we are in the early stages of development, and with a little luck and good management, should do well as time progresses.
