Was just told by BestBuy that "nearly all" FE orders yesterday were put on the backorder list, which means the units won't ship until Oct 24th. Very cool BestBuy.
Price of a cheaper than US MSRP card is a two week wait I suppose.

I haven't seen the usual twitch stock alert things pop up, the only one I know of is this one: https://www.nowinstock.net/ca/comput...vidia/rtx4090/
I've also seen some people say to setup to monitor the page yourself with https://distill.io/ but I haven't tried that.

Lol nvidia is "unlaunching" the cut down 12GB 4080 as it was "confusing" to have two cards with the 4080 designation.

They aren't pulling it because it's confusing, that's just PR spin. They're pulling it because they were getting called out all over the place for branding
a 4070 as another 4080 to be able to jack up the price.

I've been having some crashes and even a blue screen lately. It's usually when I'm watching netflix and try and alt tab from a game, sometimes minecraft does it by itself. I'm wondering if my 6 year old PC/graphics card are giving me signals, or, a format may fix the issue?

I'm going to grab a 5800x3d to upgrade my 3900xt. Bad idea? I'm not going to do a full upgrade for a year or more so I think this will be a good boost in the gaming department.

Still the best gaming cpu on the market until am5 starts using 3d cache. Still beats 13th gen and am5 now.
Was thinking of swapping my 5900x for a 58003d . My wife is icing a 11700k for work at home and a 3080 12gb so was thinking of giving her my 5900x and tomahawk board I got laying around after I upgraded to rog dark hero board.

From all the threads I'm monitoring about the 4090 it seems the consensus is that the 5800X3D is a very good gaming upgrade. Especially if you have "old" hardware and don't want to go CPU + motherboard + RAM.

I was in MemEx buying an on-sale 980 Pro and a copy of (crippled!) Win11 the other day and asked about it; seems they're taking backorder requests freely. No idea what the wait looks like however.

Oh cool! Good to now. My first priority is an FE card just because of the space constraints I think I'll have with the width of the card + the cable. Otherwise I'd be on board to purchase the TUF (non-OC).

Yeah you'll have to use a Twitch tracker or just scour BestBuy if you want an FE; I assume there will be a drop on the 24th when the "backorders" ship, if they happen to get overstock beyond their current fulfillment requirements.

Yeah, that was my thinking process too. That once they get their October 24th physical stock on-hand they might have additional that they didn't sell through that either will be available in-store (bleh) or online (less bleh).
