Yeah they took the color out on the jersey to keep us guessing. Depending on how you look at the monochrome jersey it could be red or black primary. If I think of Flames retro colors I can trick my mind into seeing a red jersey with yellow collar but if I think of Stampeders black jerseys I can also trick myself into seeing black jersey with red collar. Kind of exciting to know there's a chance that maybe the new jerseys will be nice.

I mean I REALLY want it to be Retro piping but a black jersey with a Red C with yellow accenting it. With the collar piping red. I really want that in my life.

They already used the Tigers for the outdoor game. Broncos never had a logo, and the Wranglers logo was pretty bad.

If it was black, it would be black. They could boost the levels to make black look grey but then the yellow strip on the collar would be white.

EA no longer adds that data in the base game. New jerseys are added later in an update.

I'm not sure how anybody is looking at the image and getting a black/grey jersey. It seems obvious that they put a gradient over the photo to hide the color of the jersey.

I don't know where people are seeing yellow or red. Definitely white IMO.
EDIT: Just noticed somebody on Twitter replied with my screenshot from the YouTube video. My theory is spreading.

So far... the collars match that Flames t-shirt pic which raises concern from 5% to about 10%.
So at the very least, we know there was a little thought put into the retro besides a copy/paste.
