I haven't seen much on this App here, but I highly recommend it.
I find it hard to believe this App is free. The only price you pay is having to watch a couple commercial breaks through the whole movie, and at most, they are 1 minute. I find a typical two hour movie will have three, 1 minute breaks.
The content is simply incredible if you like 80's action and horror. I basically binged the entire Charles Bronson catalogue over the last month. And if you haven't seen Death Wish 3, you haven't seen the most gloriously violent movie ever.
Anyway, if you haven't loaded this app on your TV it's highly recommended. You don't even need to sign in with an email or anything.

Christ, in the middle of movies? Is this what Disney and Netflix are planning? I was thinking more between episodes of TV shows, or before and after a movie.

It's very Happy balance, considering it's free. There will be less commercials during and entire movie, than you will get in a single commercial break during any normal TV show. The commercial break will be 30 or 60 seconds. So at worst, you endure 2.5 minutes in a 2 hour movie. Gotta get up for a leak or drink anyway.
If I was watching a new release blockbuster or something.... yeah, even that would annoy me. But if I am watching Invasion USA, whatever... who cares.
If they had a 10 buck a month ad free version though... I'd be all over it. The library is massive and just bursting with hidden gems. Last weekend I watched the entire Phantasm Series of movies. I totally forgot those even existed, but the first few were as awesome as I remember them.

All I'm saying is it's a genie that's going to be very tough to put back in the bottle. A commercial popping up in the middle of a movie is something I'm not willing to put up with after a decade of streaming, and a decade before that of disc.

If I was paying for the channel I'd agree, but not when it's free.
I'll gladly deal with a commercial if I'm not out of pocket.
Not sure if all are available in Canada, but between Freevee (formerly IMDB TV), Tubi and Pluto there is a ton of good free content (ad supported).
If you are a firestick user, it provides full guide for all three services (plus more I expect) in one location. Between that and about 80 OTA channels, there is absolutely nothing else required for casual viewing.
None of this changes the problem of still requiring numerous streaming services for sports or 'premium tv' - though here in US T-mobile covers 2 stream HD Netflix and AppleTV+ as part of monthly wireless service.
I like Tubi as there are some Hollywood movies mixed in with good independent movies and documentaries. My favourite part is looking through the 80s/90s horror and action section. It’s like being in a video store again as I recognize a lot of the cover art. Kanopy is also a good free streaming service. You are limited to 10 movies a month (with a library card) but no ads and a better art house/world section (lots of Criterions)
Its funny because Tubi is just an all over the map type of things.
You get the zany teen comedies from the 80's, you get tremendous 80's horror movies like slumber party massecre and its sequels.
You get the sexploitation and blacksploitation movies from the 70's and 80s. Who knew there were so many woman's prisons out there run by brutal sex trafficking overweight female wardens.
The selection is outright awesome, I found the whole Elvira series of halloween movies where she riffs on terrible movies.

I think I recommended it when it was on Prime a couple years ago but now that we're rewatching The Goes Wrong Show on Tubi, let me recommend it again. 6 x 30 minute episodes, each one is a stage play where things go wrong in increasingly ridiculous and inventive ways from actors missing their cues, props not working properly and sets falling apart or being poorly designed. It's cleverly designed slapstick and good family viewing, your kids will laugh their heads off.
