We take things for granted. This is a total non issue if people just use rain water for their outside usage or don't use outdoor water at all.
I haven't had to experience that, but my mom grew up in North Vietnam during the war and some of her stories she shared as we grew up has made me appreciate how much we have here. I find it hilarious that the people that loudly proclaim that their freedoms are being stolen are likely also the ones that have never experienced having their freedoms truly being stolen.

or stepped foot outside of the "1st World".

People really need to see some of the appalling conditions people live in every day.

Car wash? A bucket of rainwater and a couple rags are all you need.

On the other hand plenty of people leave town for the weekend and would use no water whatsoever. With offices also closed on weekends it would be pretty disappointing if usage was not down significantly each weekend.

Catch what we can in a bucket, then use that to flush the toilet.

Checked my Enmax bill and looks like an average month is 11000 litres for this household of 3 so we're already on the low end of usage. Typical is 170L per person per day apparently.

Also walked around the house and see a few opportunities to reduce further. Main floor toilet is 4.5 litres per flush and the other 3 in the house are 6....so probably time to stop procrastinating on replacing those..

If you’re a gardener, this is a wake up call. Get a rain barrel or something. You shouldn’t be relying entirely on tap water.

If this is affecting your day to day life otherwise… well… you were probably wasting a ####load of water. So, you trash.

If you like a clean vehicle you can hand wash in your garage. I do it all the time to remove dust and light dirt (if it is covered in mud it won't work.) I use Optimum No Rinse soap and you just need a couple buckets with 4 or 5 gallons of water each (double bucket method) or you could even get away with just using the one soapy bucket.

1.1 m^3 for 3 people for a month in incredibly low. I thought I was doing well at 7 m^3.

Are you sure you aren't using 11,000 liters/11 m^3?

Yeah that seems low. If 3 people flush the toilet once per day (which, I dunno, I tend to use the bathroom more than once per day) that’s almost 600 litres for a low flow toilet.

1100 is crazy low.

If you’ve got a bidet, you can safely use the low volume flush. I don’t know how much water the bidet uses each time though.

Yeah, that sounds unbelievable honestly. 35L a day between 3 people? [X]Doubt

One thing I started doing it I now start the shower at full hot. I used to set it to the temperature I want and wait. Once it gets to full hot, I dial it back. Because I'm not mixing hot and cold during the warm-up; that warm-up takes about 1/2 as long.
