Cheap pizza's serve a purpose. My boys are picky and will only eat cheese or pepperoni pizza and their taste in pizza is not directly proportional to price or quality ingredients. Hot-N-Ready pizza's are a godsend as we can feed them for cheap.

My favourite, Greek pizza, got bounced. I’d hoped for a better result.

Lucky! Yeah, it was sold out within no more than 2 minutes of the order form going live. Crazy.

Noble is very good, but last time I had it at 88 I was half cut however.
Honestly there are other great pizza places in Calgary. Its like Ramen, everyone goes to that Bridgeland place and I think it is fine not great. It has hype tho. Meanwhile you can go to Carino and get it with zero line and I think it is just as good.
I have been doing Mercado lately as I like that style. Will wait for the Noble hype to die down.

Since I haven't seen it mentioned, Connie and Johns has opened up in the East Village. Chef Connie DeSousa from CharCut has opened up a Detroit style and New York style pizza place. https://www.connieandjohns.com/

Celebrated Square Root Day

One thing that's annoying as an early worker (off at 2pm) is most of the good neighbourhood pizza places open at 4.

Well done, thanks.
That’s hot off the presses, today was their first day (aside from a couple of ‘by the slice’ pop ups)
Outstanding Detroit style

It's like buying concert tickets- super stressful. Choose pizza(s) pickup time, enter your name and checkout- as soon as you hesitate they are sold out

I'm thinking I got super lucky last week, it was the first time I tried. I do have Chrome set up to fill in name, address, credit card etc automatically which saves some time.

We ordered The Roni (Detroit style pepperoni pizza) tonight. Overall it was a great pie...although at a whopping $34 I was definitely expecting it to be bigger. So good pizza, but questionable value.

How big is it? That's more expensive than Pow's pepperoni and they make theirs using wagyu. It better be damn good.

It’s a 14x10 pizza so the same as a POW large. But it’s perhaps a bit thinner, so not quite as filling. I find both places to be quite good, but I would say neither is a great value. Love the Detroit style though!

Absolutely nothing wrong with this.
If it is cheap and pleases the kids do it!

Tried Bow Tie - Center St this weekend. Awesome stuff in the classic greek style. Lots of toppings and they didn't skimp on meat (All Dressed Up and Hawaiian)
Dough and Crust were impeccable - nice and soft. You didn't hit a wall of crust and dough - it just melded in nicely with a bit of crunch.
Will definitely be going back.

Finally tried Sammy's in Braeside I think. Pretty damn impressed with that pizza. My brother and I got a 14" and ate the entire thing which was 5 slices apiece. Didn't eat anything else until dinner the next night. Will definitely be ordering from there again.
And last week we tried Gondola's from their Acadia location. Haven't eaten it since the 90's. I had forgotten how thin it was which isn't really my thing but it wasn't bad or anything.
