Local Restaurant Thread

We ordered the Greek takeout dinner from Workshop last night and it was amazing. So much flavor and way too much food for two people. Highly recommend trying it out.

I went to Madisons 1212 in Inglewood last night (we had a table on the patio). The tables were all spaced out quite well and it was not crowded (looked the same inside as well). That's disappointing if other places are crowding their patios.

Bar Patricia has a patio now, and we were the first to have a drink there - the liquor license was approved while we were eating.

I biked past National on 17th and while I believe they were Trying to space everyone it was a cluster.

They put more tables on the sidewalk spaced out, but the proximity to people in line waiting to get in and people walking by, not sure how much risk was mitigated

I am still in take out mode. Happy to sit at home and eat on my patio. I am old and lame though. Just taking a wait a few weeks and see approach.

Oh and Connie and John pizza was great last night. Had the “what we like” pizza. 1 pizza fed 2 of us with a few slices left over.

100% agree. We did it tonight, so much food and tasty. You can tell they put some thought into what would take-out well.

Tomorrow is the last day to get Con Mi Tacos according to Instagram. It’s almost all sold out. I never got to try the al pastor. Crap.

They said they are reopening soon somewhere. I think this was a pop up to test waters and it was successful.

From all accounts they will be back. Tacos were fantastic.

Calgary's Blink Restaurant is closing after 13 years of business

While the concept will be shuttering, Blink owners, who also run sister spots Bar Annabelle and Annabelle’s Kitchen, will be reopening with a new establishment in the space.

“We are excited to make a change and revamp our iconic space into Annabelle’s Kitchen Downtown — a modern neighbourhood Italian restaurant,” read the statement.

Tried out Connie & John's pizza last night and it was great. It was exactly the type of pizza I've been searching for - covered in crispy pepperoni and Instagram worthy.

Any thoughts on Flores and Pine? Our boss gave us some of our social club money back and suggested trying out some local restaurants on our own.

It was well received by Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhal! Although, maybe that was because there was hockey euphoria unfolding around them that made it feel like the middle of mardi gras.

Decent, but after trying everything on the menu my go to is the Chicken Paprikash and a side order of cabbage rolls to take home.

Have only been there once but thought is was good. In terms of quality, menu, service, and atmosphere. Would recommend.
