Don't waste your time. GranteedEV is one of the people that think that 10-10-0 (.500) is equal to 10-0-10 (30 pts in 20 games). And there is no reasoning with them.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect Rittich until the back to back in Winnipeg. Maybe he gets one of the Toronto or Montreal games but if Markstrom is playing well you roll with your number 1.

We have a win and a loss. The loss feels bad. the win feels good. i like to win more games than we lose.
'.500' has nothing to do with the standings or points - it's about winning games in sports talk. loser points are there but they're still not as fun as wins.

and you're one of those people that thinks 0-0-20 (20 pts in 20 games) is the same as 10-10-0 (20 pts in 20 games).

Is this the first time that Bennett has had more than one chance to play with some talented players following a game in which he struggled?

To me it's like a tie. The NHL is insisting on solving games so they role out three on three and a shoot out, but for the losing team it's a tie.
So on the old rules the Flames would have a win and a tie and be above .500.

The Flames would be .500 if the NHL had a sensible scoring system. But they don't.
2 points for a win, zero for a loss.
We don't need to make the losers of the game feel better or get a consolation prize. Choose a method for determining the winner of games and live by it. Extend 3 on 3 for a bit if you'd like. Or choose some other way of determining a winner.

Struggled?
61% CF
65% Shot split
68% xGF
Two penalties ... both silly, one sillier than the other but neither he nor that line struggled at all.
