I feel like in 10 years we'll be talking about this like we talk about arena naming sponsors.

Now I see why a player without a helmet must skate back to the bench! Coming soon: mandatory helmets during warmups.

I don't think I'd even notice. As another poster said, there already are ads or print on them (helmet manufacturer, patches honoring a person or a cause, etc.), and I've never really noticed them once the game starts. They could all wear pink helmets, and I wouldn't care, to be honest.

Not always. I have a Raptors authentic (purchased at Real Sports online) with Sun Life financial's logo on it.
And some Replicas have 'em, too.

If the NHL started putting ads on jerseys, I would want my replicas to have them. They're called replicas for a reason.

Yeah, not surprising.
Also, a few weeks ago, the Jets announced the renaming of their arena for next season. At the same time, they announced that they had come to a multiyear agreement to keep Bell as a helmet sponsor.

The thing is, you barely notice them. I get it but also wonder how effective those ads actually are.
Like Scotia Bank, even when Jarome did ads for them I was never enticed to go open an account there. But I guess they do work somehow.
I'm okay with them honestly, doesn't take away anything from my enjoyment of the product, especially the current helmet ones.

I don’t mind the helmet ads as much as I thought. I would like if they had the logos colour match the kit, but I’m guessing that creates branding problems for some of the sponsors.
Still holding out a little hope that the jerseys will remain untainted.

I think it's all about brand recall. They don't need you to open an account today, or even tomorrow, but maybe in 5 years you need a home mortgage or something. You might consider looking into scotiabank (you might still decide to go with your current back or whatever) and that's all they're looking for, to be a part of the consideration set.
