Default Xbox Live renewal...

My kids Xbox live Gold account is up for renewal.

Cheapest I can find online is 49.99 at Costco.

Anyone got a cheaper link ?

This might be a bit off topic, but I really don't know.

I have an Xbox 360, and my kids use it. My nephew has been around my place a bunch this summer and is asking me about buying games with Microsoft Points.

Where is the best place to buy them? What else can you use them for? TV and Movie content - just on xbox or anywhere on the xbox store? (like on my Windows 8 RT tablet)

I really wouldn't bother buying MS points UNLESS you can get them on the cheap. The next dashboard update is going to replace the MS Point system with real money purchasing options.

I buy a family pack every year at $99 for 4 users and just have 3 friends pay $25 each. The only restriction on it is that one person acts as the "parent" and controls ratings etc and the people that aren't the "parent" can only add points via cards.

Find some old coupon/offer. call MS and say you tried using it but it didn't work.

you are a long time customer, etc., could you match it now?

try 34.99

Really is annoying that the points aren't transferrable.

I have an excess of MS points and I rarely use my Xbox, but I can't give them to my niece who plays all the time?

After Microsoft cancelled the family pack they said that it'd be one live account/household. Don't know if it's been implemented yet, or if it's only for the new xbox but you'll probably want to do some research before buying 2 live accounts.
