Bennett, a 23-year-old native of Holland Landing, ON played in 71 games last season netting 13 goals and 14 assists for 27 points and led the team with 93 penalty minutes. He is a veteran of 312 career games with Calgary scoring 55 goals and 61 assists for 116 points along with 264 penalty minutes during his five year NHL career. He has skated in 20 playoff games netting six goals and five assists for 11 points and 28 penalty minutes.

A great deal for both sides!
Sam can try and grow as a player for a much larger contract in 2 years while the flames get him at a good price for what he brings each game (even if it doesnt always show up on the scoresheet)

Very happy with the deal, following a Backlund-esque type of contract scheme.
Should break out as a solid all around 40 point player by the end of this deal.
We then give him a solid 5-6 year deal paying him 4 and change.
Very happy he will be sticking around.
