Poking a player outside of the field of play = 1 game suspension.
Beating the crap out of a player who is outside the field of play = not even reviewed.
...it’s such a painfully clear comparison, yet the NHL does nothing. The league is a joke.

The joke is not that Tkachuk got suspended 1 game.
The joke is that the NHL, by not suspending Mantha, is saying that what Tkachuk did was worse than what Mantha did.
That is so inconceivably wrong that I don't even know where to begin.

I don't agree with it, but I can live with one game. As others have said, the NHL letting Mantha off scott free is much worse.
