Default Herman Boone - TC Williams Coach death

Was portrayed by Denzel Washington in remember the Titans.

A brilliant coach who was bought into a almost impossible situation during desegregation in the early 70's, he guided the Titans to a National Championship.

Bill Yost died earlier this year as well.

Its pretty sad.

Boone and Yost died this year.
Sheryl Yost (The daughter) died of a undiagnosed heart condition at a young age.
Bertier died in that car accident.

When the movie came out I did the research on it, and basically they had to down play how good that team was in their 13-0 year. Most of the games were absolute blowouts, and that was still considered to be one of the most dominant high school defenses in history.

Here's the breakdown of that season

RIP Coach.

One of my favourite scenes from the movie:

There were always complaints about Boone and he was a somewhat contraversial coaching figure. He could be brutal and direct and extremely demanding, and players interviewed after the movie came out described a serious love hate relationship with him. He clearly made them better, but at times his coaching style was described as brutal bordering on abusive. However they also talked bout Boone and Yost being a perfect tag team because Yost was a true gentleman and soft spoken and encouraging.
