The dude lives in Arizona, which is quickly becoming one of the worst-hit places in the world. It would be surprising if he didn't get it.

It’s insane because I would assume a pro athlete would take every precaution necessary in order to avoid it.

This restart could quickly become a gong show and the winner might be dictated by whichever team doesn't lose key players to the virus.

Absolutely. These NHL players should not be leaving their underground bomb shelters and survive only on their previously stocked supplies of Beefaroni.

They won’t be around long. The shut it down crowd is small and a pretty tight knit group and they’re not social distancing.

Is that the shut it down crowd, or the shut it down crowd, should shut it down crowd?

‘Guys are not happy:’ How the NHL’s positive tests will impact return to play
https://theathletic.com/1883384/2020...eturn-to-play/

Quote:
One prominent Western Conference player said Friday that the positive tests were further confirmation that the league was moving too fast with its timeline.

“This just makes no sense to me,” the veteran player said. “Right from the return-to-play format announcement and this Phase 2 thing that none of us have to be in, they’ve put the cart before the horse. We’re in the middle of a pandemic, and they’re shocked there’s an outbreak? And it’s a long ways off to July 10, so you can’t tell me more and more guys won’t be testing positive as more and more guys start to get back to town.

“Guys are not happy. This is why we better have a full player vote and not just an executive board vote. But I’m not convinced (NHLPA executive director) Don (Fehr) is going to allow that because he knows there’s so many of us on the fence. That’s why I think the league was trying to be hush-hush on these positive tests.

“In my opinion, no way we play."

Several NHL player agents surveyed by The Athletic this week indicated that more and more of their players are troubled by the idea of returning to play in a hub city environment. One prominent agent estimated that 35 to 40 percent of players were on the fence. Another suggested it was even higher than that.”

And from what I understand, it was agreed to that it would be the executive making this decision...which is why the initial vote to go back was held when it was, and then everything else was to be negotiated as things got further along.

If this goes the players individually, I agree its doubtful they play at all. Which still may be the right decision for them.

If that's the case though...yikes on the amount of escrow to be given back and also we probably dont see hockey again until October of 2021.

Well, we're not getting any live concerts or theatre productions until 2021 either, so this would just be par for the course these days. Considering the current situation in the U.S., I'd say shutting it down is probably the right thing to do at this point.

It is interesting to hear players start to voice their opinion and their concerns. I am one of the shut it down guys and I mentioned a while ago that most players likely wouldn't be up for returning to play but I was told that the majority of players would be eager to hit the ice as soon as possible because they want their chance at winning the cup.

We aren't?? I beg to differ with you on that one!! He might not be as big of an idiot as Trump is, but make no mistake Trudeau is still an idiot and absolutely terrible leader.

No, we are not at all in that conversation.

And I say that while agreeing with your closing sentence.

Trump is a worse leader but Trudeau a pretty terrible PM. Only issue here is that when Trump exits and people get bored with US politics. Justin won't have the Trump distraction to take away the fact he's created quite a bit of news for the wrong reasons over his tenure as PM.
