John Boyega has been in the social media eye for many reasons this year, and one of them is the fact that apparently he sat down with Lucasfilm and came out seeing the world with new eyes. The actor also walked back some of his strong words about Disney after The Rise of Skywalker came out in May of last year, and said that he’d be open for a return, as long as Kathleen Kennedy and J. J. Abrams were involved. Now, a new rumor from The Hashtag Show has surfaced online saying that the actor could be starring in his own Disney Plus show.
Finn had pretty great potential. He was coming out of an abusive military system and had a personal beef with phasma. I always assumed they were setting him up to be the next Han Solo, but instead they just made him comic relief.
Disney should have had the guts to pull off the Finn/Poe love angle too. It would've added another level of depth to Finn's defection.

I never really thought about it, but yeah: his story plateaued after force awakens, then sorta waned into C3P0-like status .
His character became such a snooze, I don't think I'd even care if he got a show. But if they backtrack it to the FA--as you call it, the abusive military system--times, it's more appealing
It could have been an incredible story, especially in the opening scene with his brother dying and his reality changing.
Then he became the not so good version of C-3PO, and when he wasn't the comic relief his main role was to yell wooh a lot.
You could argue that for the most part, the main characters, Poe, Finn, and even Rae could have had these great back stories, and been really interesting characters, but because of the massive disconnect of the Last Jedi, the third movie just made them cardboard.
Even on the villains side, Hux was really good in the first movie. A fairly competent and completely punchable arrogant officer for the Space Nazi's. In the second movie he was a pratfall a minute gag fest, and in the third movie he was a spy oh wait he got the red shirt death.
The Force Awakens was flawed but introduced some really interesting possibilities. The Last Jedi threw that out the window and the third movie ripped off the Dark Empire series and yelled "Palpatine, get yer Palpatine" and then made him on moron with a bad death.

You mean they turned a character with interesting potential into something generic and boring? No way. I dont believe you. I wont.
I've said it numerous times, absolutely nobody cares about any of the characters in the new trilogy. They simply did an atrocious job with character arcs and story lines.
All of the new characters with the exception of maybe Kylo Ren completely sucked. They had all the breadth, depth and interesting characteristics of Wonder Bread.
Maybe Boyega does get his own show. Whats the point? Is there that much interest in Finn? Is he just going to run around acting goofy? Are they contemplating bringing him back for another film?
They should not be contemplating that.

There was an interview with Boyega where they asked him if he would come back to Star Wars, and he was like nope, absolutely not, that part of my life is done.
I think Daisy is done with the whole thing as well, she sounds pretty cynical about the whole thing, and she talked about not getting offers for work after Star Wars. These were for the most part pretty good actors, but the writing and chaos of the story line left most of them little to do in the story.
I always feel sorry for poor Tran, I'm sure when she got the part in Star Wars she didn't expect to be blamed for the sequels, relentlessly bullied on line and then given the Jar Jar Binks treatment in the third movie.

I know we dont want to get into too much 'sequel-speak' but I feel sorry for all of the actors.
I dont think any of the actors really covered themselves in Glory, nobody (with the exception of Adam Driver) really did all that good of a job.
That being said, you can't make Bricks without Clay.
The story, the plot, the script, the character 'development'...it all seemed like it was slapped together by a disinterested intern on his first day.
"Don't worry! We'll fix it in Post! We'll get Luke in there!"
Not that the Star Wars Franchise as a whole is notorious for its actors going on to glittering film careers anyways, with a couple of notable exceptions.
