To me there are two parts to Hamonic's assessment
1) his own play ... CF, +-, ice time. You know he'll be gold when it comes to playing tough and sticking up for his teammates. On this he's been a passable, but not elite.
2) Brodie's play ... the other angle in this is the effect on Brodie's play which so far has been great. Brodie back to controlling games.
They seem to be making strides to tighten up as a paring and I think they'll be fine by Christmas setting up a great second half.

Bartkowski is a 7th defenseman, he doesn't have bar set all that high that he needs to be denigrated

I think Bartkowski is terrible, even for the standards of a 7th D-man.

I suppose this injury isn't minor as first reported.

Yeah, might be a week according to Glen.

Gulutzan says Hamonic’s injury will keep him out “about a week”. Lower body injury. #Flames

Travis Hamonic is day-to-day with lower body injury, not week-to-week. #Flames hope to have him back soon. Good news.

I think with Travis being on retroactive IR from Nov. 2, that gives Andersson the game on Tues vs Vancouver (he's probably most familiar with that team's roster from their AHL barn).
If it really is day to day then I'm guessing Hamonic returns to the roster exactly 7 days from IR, against Detroit on Thursday. If not, then Rasmus gets another game. They didn't call up Rasmus to let him sit in the pressbox for the entire week, although I'm sure he'd enjoy the temporary pay hike either way. I understand him sitting tonight as the travel plans were quite short on notice.

Rasmus was in Dorsette's head in Penticton, so your probably right about Tuesday. Excellent point

I hope you're right. I'd like to see Andersson get into the game Tuesday as well but I'm just not sure Gulutzan puts him in over Bartkowski yet.
