The guy I was posting about right above you, Versteeg.
My argument was essentially:
Versteeg isn't very good, but he's still the least worst (debatable I guess), and more importantly has an okay contract (unlike Stajan and Brouwer), so maybe he could be traded. (Unlike Stajan and Brouwer.)

IMO yes. I think the Flames can definitely strike up a decent trade with Kris. And they should very much explore that avenue with him.

I doubt Versteeg has any value right now. He is a pretty one-dimensional player, and even in that one dimension (offense) he is inconsistent at best.
He could have value at the deadline when teams are looking for scoring depth, but this early in the season I doubt there is a deal to be made there.

Yeah I think it's a longshot, but not impossible. I was wondering how others see it.
I do see him as someone who could easily pick it up again at some point, either here or in another team.

The Hawks seem like they are trying to put the band back together...

So the Versteeg/Stajan/Brouwer line tonight. Well, not exactly a good game, but not anywhere near as complete liabilities tonight as they generally have been.
At least they all had a few decent scoring chances in this one, which is way more than can usually be said for this year.
Baby steps. Baby steps.

Oh, and almost forgot, not one shift where they were seriously or dangerously hemmed in this time.
It's all about the small victories.

Plus on for Stone's goal. Except Brouwer who'd gone off on the change. Stajan did a nice screen.

Not hemmed in their own zone, a few scoring chances and yeah I think you can credit their line for the Stone goal. Versteeg especially. (Intercepts the puck, back and forth with Frolik, then passes it to Stone for the goal.)
Now, as long as nobody goes to CapFriendly that's not bad for a depth line
